Most Yr 2 parents should be going for the briefing. Just wonder is there any need to meet the teacher.
There isn't usually a need unless the teacher specially arranges for the parent to meet. It's just tt since I'll be going for the talk, so I thought I might as well chat with a couple of teachers to make my trip more worthwhile. I'll just attend the 4-5pm talk. -
PiggyLalala:
RI PTM is tomorrow. Just curious, do you still go for the PTM now that our boys are in the secondary school?
Is the PTM only for Year 2 parents? Never hear DS (Year 1) mention anything about PTM.. -

Just checked with DS.. He says parents don't need to see teachers, unless 'invited' to see them.. That was what DS told me during the previous PTM (I didn't attend too)..
Vlim, are you meeting any teachers tomorrow? -
Hi firefly, yes I going to meet his teachers though not ‘invited’… It is just like the ptm in first semester la …

[/quote]heard they only offer 1-2 a year. very exclusive. one of my DS's friend there. he says that offer comes from teachers. parents must approve also. generally those students who have done very well in the SIMO training at NUS. there are a few RI teachers also involved in the SIMO training so they would probably have a clearer picture.
So, merit CCA can be converted to core CCA. Who is the one who can decide?naggo-nitemare:

Some jrs who perform v well in the Open category, will join SIMO training at NUS on national team level. A couple who are really really outstanding get to convert their math club merit CCA into Core CCA status, ie, they can leave the other earlier core to train in math 3 times a week. -

I also did not attend the PTM in the first semester..
Are you meeting the teachers of ALL the subjects?
Btw, DS is visiting NYGH tomorrow afternoon to attend a talk by Starbucks (something to do with Geography :scratchhead: ).. DS says they will get to savour food & beverages there.. Is your DS going too? -

Thanks. So, it is only for those very exceptional cases.
