Just being update from my tour guide. If we are bring our kids milk powder or cereal to Korea, it must be brand new cum unopen one. If not their custom will not let us pass through.

The money exchange at Korea accetp mostly USD rather than SGD. For those who intended to shop at the night market (like me). Please change enough Korean Won in Singapore.

Would like to know what are the common present to purchase for Teachers’ Day. I hv budget $10 per teacher for my son’s childcare teachers, is it too high?

Hello!

thanks for your note. how old is your son now? have he been attending kyra for long?

I've visited Kyra and met Albert who was a very open and friendly principal.

The place seems clean and hygenic, but i have few concerns. The classes are only segregated by low partitions, and the different classes are able to hear one another, which seems to be a little distracting.

In addition, they do not have any existing K2 classes yet, which could be due to the fact that they only set up about a year or two i believe.

The nursury classes were also not following the timetable while i was there, and the kids were just sitting around, and playing with some toys.

Maybe it was the beginning of the morning, but the teachers do not feel energetic enough, and do not seem connected to the children. There was one little boy sitting by himself having breakfast, and probably got choked, and vomitted all over his shirt. none of the teachers noticed, and my husband and I had to alert them.

I'm still on the search for other preschool options, and probably looking at Cherie Hearts or Agape Uni around this area as well. Slightly further from here will be Pat's Schoolhouse or Shaws.

hi dee, my son is 5 years old and in their k1 class. wat time did u go? in the morning, the teacher are more busy on taking the childern temp & checking their hands & leg. my son join the centre on dec 2008, so far my husband and i are still comfortable with the centre.

their lesson started on 9pm start. b4 tat the children are allow to play at their own time. once the lesson the children are not allow to wander out of their classroom. this is what i saw when i first visited the centre.

hi dee, my son is in kyra preschool, as far as we concern this is a nice school. this preschool are run by a couple, Albert & Angeline. firstly, we are please with their hygiene level. secondly, when ever we quries on our son performance, his teachers will reply promptly as well as giving us suggestion to help our son to improve. thirdly, we see improvement on our son in social development as well as language development.

For those who prefer to have a more flexible schedule when going Korea, you may want to buy a guidebook from Popular (also can borrow from the library but better to have a copy yourself) similar to the one below. From there, read to see about places to go and things to do. Then, ask travel agencies for a copies of their itinerary and from there, customise/modify the days yourself to suit your needs, pass it to the tour guide, and off you can go!


Different people have different thinking of how a tour should be. For me, I hate to rush and never have an intention to cover as many places within a short period of time (esp if I am traveling with younger children). So, usually my travel itinerary consists of fewer places and several free & easy days for me to do whatever I want or just to stay in my room not doing anything at all (and...I dont fancy visiting palaces, temples, etc, and following tours usually will bring me to such places which I find yawning...).
