I thought this kind of qn is to solve by 'grouping' and not by algebra.


1 pen + 1 pencil = 2.50
2 pens + 2 pencils = 5.00
Since 2 pens = 3 pencils, replace the 2 pens will give you 5 pencils.

Oops now then I notice your grouping matter..^o^..Hmm I'm not too sure whether it should solve by grouping or algebra but I still perfer jetsetter's matter cos at least the kid know what is the 1 unit cost.

I used to do this for my 2/3, but i didn't laminate it, i just cut it & make into a mini book, according to chapter.
but i don't think i will hv time for 4/5, anyway, since cards are provided, save my work... wahaha.

Just found this thread! Happy to see so many parents using 四五块读。After completing the whole series, parents can try to get your kids to read Chinese newspaper (eg. wanbao), try reading the advertisements first. You will realize the kids will be very happy and motivated when they can 'read' the newspaper ! I tried this when DS2 was in K2 last year. His older siblings were surprised that their little brother can read newspaper! He is the only kid of the 3 that has no Chinese tuition. I should have started this with my two elders and could have saved me $$$! Regret!

Will wanbao a bit hard? I actually take my elder boy 好朋友 for him to look around. In fact he is only interested on the picture..^o^..
