Hi all, my DD got into NCHS :)...anyone has any idea on the COP for NCHS this year?

Thanks. I’m just thinking if the workload is too much for my DD if she wants to take it. I know of many students in other schools actually dropped their 3rd language after 1st year due to finding it tough to manage the priorities.

Sorry to ask again… on the Malay language (special program) offered at NCHS. Is it popular and do students stick to it till O level? Thanks.

Mostly NYJC, a few aiming for VJC, ACJC, AJC.
Most SAP schools students are aiming for NYJC. Not sure why???

Possibly becz for NYJC their subject combi is really very open, other than MOE guidelines basically no restrictions on the subjects. Their former principal Mr Kwek relaxed the rules quite a lot. Heard quite lots of good stuffs abt this former principal...[/quote]It's great to know that NYJC has made amazing progress over the last decade as compared to my time with the school more than 2 decades ago when facilities and school popularity is nowhere near today's standards. My DD is excited to join NCHS and I don't rule out that she may be studying at my alma mater one day. Thanks for the information shared.

Hi there, thanks again for sharing your thoughts and experiences. I guessed this would've nailed it down for me and my DD. Btw, my DD has the same score as well and I believe they should have no issue to get into Nan Chiau if based on last few years' COP. Good luck! Cheers.

Thanks for the sharing and information. Yes, Nan Chiau is also more accessible from my location. Of course, Chung Cheng is sitting on a large plot of land with their trademark lake and buildings to woo people over. End of the day, I think the school programs matter a lot. And one observation we made was Nan Chiau students are more polite and respectful during the open house. Not sure if this is the baseline though.

Hi floppy, thanks for the reply and information provided. This is helpful. Btw, any comments between these 2 schools? We have been to the open house on Sat and they have too many similarities like curriculum, results and culture and it's tough to differentiate clearly. Any helpful insights are greatly appreciated.
