Hi all, for students who need more support with open ended questions, do have any recommendation of a tuition centre that drill or focus this area?

I also wanted to know too. Marks kept deducting due to insufficient keywords. :scared:

Precisely!!! I thought my Son is already well prepared BUT .... cannot explain .... marks get deducted literally everywhere but I thought the keywords are there! :imdrowning:

    • RE: All About Market Rates of Private Tutors

Well, ever since I joined this forum, I have read so many times regarding this Chen Laoshi, literally everywhere in various subject line. Initially I thought she is really good but now I become suspicious due to repeated posting selling the same tutor. Experienced parents here can correct me if I am wrong. How do you all differentiate between real recommendation or self advertising? Thanks.

    • RE: Online shopping

Initially I need to use google to translate english to chinese for the stuff I am searching for. After investing some money in Taobao, I think my chinese has improved!!! Now, navigation gets easier for me and my searching and buying speed improved too!!! 😓 :nailbite:

I also always buy direct. No point buying from other marketplace where they inflate the price. Please do not pay by credit card! You are paying high exchange rates & 3% admin charges. There are many ways to pay for taobao, either through axs top up (but exchange rate is bad too but U don’t pay admin charge) or you use 代付 option. The exchange rate is way better.

Thanks for sharing yanyan. So far the stuff I purchased are relatively cheap so the impact on exchange rate is negligible. Will take note for bigger purchase. 🙂

Books, do you buy bulky items? Can you advise how you use Lazada for consolidation when you are buying direct from Tmall? Thanks!

No I usually buy chinese books, clothings, winter clothings etc... nothing bulky so I am ok with air shipping. Some of my colleagues buy quality, high thread count bedsheets etc so they use Lazada sea. I click on that t-mall tab and also filter by 人气 or 销量 to choose among the so many retailers selling the same stuff.

Add everything to shopping cart, checkout, choose forwarder then make payment. When stocks from all the different vendors reach the warehouse (each time an order is received by the warehose, i will get a sms message too), I will click 'select all', consolidate and pay shipping charge. After that, just wait to receive the package. That's all I know.

Actually almost the same like buying from Q10, except this one we are shipping from China.

Hi fantasylanddreams, I always buy direct from Taobao and pay by credit card. So far I find very easy and no hiccups, The price published by the retailers is what we pay. I have never use ezbuy before so can’t comment on that.

    • RE: Online shopping

China online sales, especially Tmall, is a booming business. Double 11 sales is expected to grow double digit this year. We all know the buying pattern of local chinese. They can really buy, A LOT!!! Many \"good stuff\" will be reserved and go out of stock before the actual double 11. We need to start adding our purchase to our shopping cart. 😓

Direct purchase from Taobao is super easy and convenient, just like buying from Q10. I have been using Lazada for consolidation and AIR shipping to SG and am very happy with their service. After paying the shipping cost (which I find is really reasonable and affordable), I normally received the package within 3 days. I also requested for my package to be shrink or compressed in order to save on the shipping cost and they did a good job too. Very efficient!

Taobao is too addictive!!! Happy shopping!

Disclaimer: I am not working for Lazada, only sharing their good service just in case you are wondering which to choose as there are a few freight forwarders to choose from in Taobao.
