TigerMOM2010:My 2 children are with PCF childcare. We had suffered in the hands of lousy childcare centres before. The current one is wonderful and my children are happy. Granted, they are indeed slower when it comes to the ABCs and 123s but i have seen my children blossom. Speaking up more, eating better, forging friendships and best of all, no longer falling sick every few weeks. For that, i'm thankful. I will take their academics into my own hands then, since the current PCF is not so advanced. At the very least, i go to work assured and happy that my children are with caring and patient teachers. I cannot ask for more!Sooooo.. Tiger mom not so relaxed anymore..
I told a friend that I have signed him up for a Sparks accredited PCF nearby and she gave me like a warning siren to change the pre school!
Is it that bad? Is it a must for kids to be 100% prepared for P1. Does the system punish them for not being ready?
Is it a status thing for a child to be highly proficient in reading?
I m getting worried here. I want my child to enjoy sch and to be a creative and critical thinker. Not be a dictionary!
I mean look at the working world, sometimes u are punished for been too smart. Haiz...

RE: North Spring Primary
Kittycat1230, thank you for your feedback!
Historical reasons? I reside near Sengkang Green and I know i will have to end up balloting, so i wish to have an open mind and get to know other schools in the area as well, because i don't wish to end up feeling lost whether its phase 2C or 2C supp. Don't wish to make an uninformed last minute decision.
Can i ask, how long has the current P been with North Spring?

RE: North Spring Primary
I am also considering North Spring Primary for my child born in 2010. My husband has a colleague who has 2 children in this school and his colleague says his kids are happy and that's the most important thing.
Any more feedback about this school?

RE: [Seng Kang] Primary Schools
Any feedback on North Spring Pri? It seems really low profile but i did not manage to get any negative feedback about this primary school as well.

RE: Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts - Kinder Art class
I am giving up the slot for my boy. He has started his art classes with Artary. The ratio is alot better and i think at his age, i will prefer a lower ratio
Good luck to all parents who are queuing this round! -
RE: Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts - Kinder Art class
I’m having second thoughts as the ratio is abit scary. 1:16 or 18 depending on the size of the classrooms. Thou an assistant teacher will be present as well. Not sure if 1:8 is a good enough ratio. But the fees are very reasonable.

RE: Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts - Kinder Art class
I was thinking about the dance class for my gal. Now that u mentioned the dance classes timings are always changing, its making me think twice ^^
I’ve gostudentsletter from NAFA about the registration of the art classes in Dec. Is it true that the kinderart classes (for 5yos) are big? 1 teacher : 20 students? -
