Thanks to all of your posting in this thread....

My DD has set on Cedar since she started her P6 and applied for DSA academic. And fortunately she got her CO ... Although she was quite confident with her PSLE, she just wants to take the CO. So we just confirmed it 30min ago ... :rahrah: :rahrah: :imcool:

    • RE: Flat Feet Problem

Flat feet is not curable. Those outlets like Sol****e attended my mostly foreign talent are not medically trained. I have spent close to $2K bcos DS, DD and DW all have flat feet :frustrated:

Both DD and DS have changed the custom orthotics twice bcoz their feet already outgrow the support size, with no improvement. What typically they will say is to encourage you to make 3rd pairs and that the children's feet are almost fixed. This is very misleading as flat feet is not curable, we were initially told it is curable if starts at young age. kept pushing so didn't really spend time to research. We didn't know that this is only a way to sell more supports in future, $$$. We can only manage the pain that is why the sole support is required. Not all flat feet needs sole support.

We just went to Orchard Clinic recently and been told all the above, and it is actually true. Better look for professional help. Not always necessarily required exp customized orthotic.

But the only different I got is that, I did not get the consultation $55 waived even though I have star-card. The cashier said that offer is no longer there. Anybody still get the $55 consultation fee waived after 20=Apr-2014 by showing star card??

Hi caring dad, my ds have decided to give up his co for dhs in favor of going for S1 result to his preferred school..... While for me is not an easy decision as this co is worth 256 points after all if we use last year cop as a reference as well as forgoing another offer, we are supportive of his decision. However in the leadup to this decision, we insisted that he consulted his school teachers as well (and they were supportive as well).... While he is not exactly in love with chinese, his main issue is inconsistency; however we do see his point that at least he have a try at his 1st choice, even if in the end there is a possibility that he may not get it. This is just to share with you as we also spent days thinking over this.....

      Hi Dreamgear,
Today is the last day to decide on the choice. Presume you have a CO but going to let go and just wait for S1.
There are people who let go of CO from RI HCI and NYGH for DHS. There is no regret even they have to travel the distance. Imagine the happy 6 years with good resources from around sincere peers and teachers.
Hope you get to see this before 12nn today as the dateline for submission.

      hi dreamgear,
thanks for sharing. as parents, it has been hard to decide, after consulting with one dunmanian about the pros and cons, and considering ds persistence to pursue his prefered school, we concluded to let go the chance. 1hr to go, nothing right or wrong ... moves on..

It is by academic. He is obviously more potatoes, he likes and perform much better in english than his under performing chinese.

He prefers Victoria school IP but will be very challenging due to his chinese that may pull down his psle score. Shall he give a miss for DHS and hope for his preference…

Hi, I am a new comer. My ds has just received his only dsa posting notice with DHS in waiting list. He does reasonably well in all math, eng , science but poor in Chinese 65-70 no HCL. He is aiming VS but also worried if chinese marks pull his psle score down. If he get into DHS, will he survive there due to his currently poor chinese in Primary? I am afraid it may ruin the whole thing ...

Anybody who has kids get into DHS with not so well CL?? Pls help... need to decide tomorrow ... :slapshead:
