Think 6-2, 7-3 or 8-4 are the same COP 4. No differentiation.

      ACSI IP - 7
      MGS IP - 6
Both are dual track school, with 4 classes of IP, the rest O level. You cannot compared to full IP schools like SJI, RI, RGS, HCI, NYGH in which they have 12 classes of IP (400 students)

sad to see the state of NJC now, I also heard many complaints from my niece who is JC2 this year in NJ. I was a former NJCian, my time, it is as good as HCJC. Hopefully the new principle Lucy Tay who was also a president scholar from NJC around my time, will bring back former glory.

CCK2008 mentioned the school seems to value-add more than RI. Let’s do some breakdown then.

Based on what floppy said that we need to look at two schools’ median score for comparison.
      HCI median rp88, with 3 in 10 scoring rp90
      RI mean rp84.4, with 1 in 4 scoring rp90

Next, is to look at the COP for the cohort intake for both schools. So we need to trace back to 2016 PSLE cop, something like tscore 261 for RI and vs 260 for HCI? But back then, HCL bonus (of up to +3) was included in computation of SAP schools’ COP. Another thing to take note is, NYPS girls enjoy affiliation to NYGH with tscore at tscore 250. For JAE intake, I think the COP was 4pts (Sc) and 5pts (Arts) for both JCs then. How about GEP intake? RI or HCI takes in more GEP students each year?

So if my daughter were to enter NYGH via affiliation with 247+3 and 6yrs later scored rp88-90, I will be super duper happy. I definitely prefer schools that value-add than value-subtract.

From the quality of the intake of students to compare the results they churn out after 6 years (or 2yrs for JAE), we can reach our own conclusion which school value-adds more to her students. I guess that’s what CCK2008 meant and if I m not mistaken, I think CCK2008 has two girls from both schools, so inevitably she tends to compare.
Yes, this is exactly what I thought, I put in the word 'seems'. Not to offend anyone.

@CCK2008, I see that you are obsessed with comparing HCI with RI and like to run down RI.

I have no idea how you conclude which school is more superior or more value added when the information you have gotten is insufficient for comparison. How many students started off at Sec 1 and how many did not advance to J1. And how many students are there at the start of J1 how many students fell out at J2.

I agree that HCI results is impressive. Maybe RI/RGS and RI(JC) should relook into their promo criteria.

Well HCI may be the best school in producing A level results but RI is the No. 1 school choice. :siam:
It seems to me both are about the same in A level performance. Considering their mean and median. Both drop in mean this year.
