DD will be having her DSA e-interview on 27 July with RGS under leadership domain. Will appreciate any sharing from folks whose DD/DS had gone through the e-interview for this domain, e.g. format of interview, questions asked, any performance tasks conducted and the type of task.

No correct or wrong answer but told DD to just say the 3 DSA she applied (DSA(bilingualism) - SNGS, NYGH; DSA(leadership) - RGS). It is the follow-up questions that students may stumble.
Hmmmm .... how to answer eh?choowt\" post_id=\"1984538\" time=\"1594175788\" user_id=\"10356:
\"Which other school did u apply for DSA?\" was one of the questions posted by SNGS interviewer. Did prepare DD on this one
Based on previous info shared, I don't think the school will know which other DSA the student had applied. Coordination amongst schools this year, not sure, though so far there is no clash in the e-interview dates for the schools that responded.
Why the various DSA programme? Because both SNGS, NYGH are SAP schools and her primary school is also SAP and she has always enjoyed bilingual school environment. DD went to SNGS open house and like what she saw and had seniors that talks good thing about SNGS (sisterhood & etc). She liked her P5 cultural exchange programme (to Taiwan) and hope to continue such programme if given chance. RGS DSA (leadership) because RGS don't offer DSA (bilingualism, only English or Chinese) and want to try a different domain since already applied for 2 DSA (bilingualism). Hope to continue honing her leadership skill and serve school (DD is vice head of primary school prefectorial board)
If the other school also give CO, which will you choose? Logical answer will be the school that you are now having e-interview. State the strength of school (environment, sisterhood & etc) and programme. -

Received email from RGS DSA (Leadership). RGS will liaise with primary school for actual date/time before sending out the details again. No action required for now.
How about RGS leadership? Anyone received any email? -

Wow ur girl is bright, all rounded! Btw, thanks for the sharing on experience with SNGS DSA. I'd believe the process shld be quite similar for other school as well. Oh yes, NYGH DSA Maths, I receive an email and letter from her primary school indicating that she is required to have her SLS login user/password, so I guess there might be some questions she has to attempt. In the email, it also mentioned that calculator is not allowed and the format of the e-selection test.
Yes, for SNGS the interview was conducted with individuals answering 3 questions and then in group of 3 (there is only 3 candidates in DD's session) on questions pertaining to the article they read on the spot. No written assignment during DD's session though she was allowed to bring A4 paper and pen to construct her thoughts (actually there is no time for it). Both are conducted on the same session (1 hour) by the group of SNGS interviewers (3 of them though DD said only 2 posted questions). Yes, it is an open session where every candidate can hear each other answers/responses.choowt\" post_id=\"1984484\" time=\"1594133012\" user_id=\"10356:

Appreciate the sharing! For what i understand here, there wasn't any test conducted, only interviews. And the interviews are conducted 1) Individual 2) Group of 3 shortlisted candidates. May I check if both interviews are conducted by the same 3 teachers on the same day same slot? I'm also curious how was the group interview conducted i.e. teacher asked a question then 3 shortlisted candidates will take turn to answer the same question, and being able to hear each other's response?
My dd is shortlisted for NYGH Maths, she has never attended any Math tuition nor MO training except those provided by school, so I also don't know how to help her be more prepared for the e-selection & e-interview? I would really appreciate if any kind parents have any experiences to share on how DSA for Maths are conducted?
NYGH DSA Math is on 17 July, I will share my dd's experience then...
For NYGH, the email mentioned that candidate needs to bring login and password to access SLS. It mentioned e-selection test follow by e-interview (all within 1 hour) thus I assume there must be online test to be completed as opposed to SNGS session. As the session is only 1 hour, my guess is the test (bilingualism) should be more towards multiple-choice or fill-in the blank format and no written essay (DD is not a fast typist). Will be great for those whose DS/DD had already taken such e-selection test to share their experience.
DD did participate in HCI MO (got silver and bronze but never gold and above) and RIPMWC but is more comfortable choosing bilingualism for DSA. Good luck to your DD in her NYGH DSA (Maths).
Well i'm not sure if the DSA exercise is coordinated, as in will a child be offered by more than one school? If so, u gotta start thinking which school she wanna go as I just have a feel that she will be offered by both SNGS & NYGH! This also brings my thots to the question, \"Which other school did u apply for DSA?\", just wondering if the school will have the details to even know if the child applied for whichever school? Haha
Good luck to us! :)
\"Which other school did u apply for DSA?\" was one of the questions posted by SNGS interviewer. Did prepare DD on this one

Clarification. 3 applicants, one is my DD and the other 2 are from another primary school (based on my DD observation should be same primary school for both). DD school doesn't put students according to their academic performance in same class. Principal wants all students to mix around which is a good thing to lessen academic competition and to keep those that perform well grounded. DD has been getting school level bilingualism award since P4 and award in translation competition thus maybe the selection.choowt\" post_id=\"1984380\" time=\"1594102634\" user_id=\"10356:

out of Total 3 candidates from your daughter's primary school who got short-listed for SNGS (Bilingualism) e-interview, are the other 2 candidates from P6 Top 2 classes, also within Top 10 cohort level in Chinese / English languages calibre, at end of 2019 P5 (SA2) last year during go up the stage, prize award ceremony ?
from your girl's primary school, maybe 3 candidates got short-listed, while from another primary school, possibly another 3 candidates.
The e-interview are conducted within the P6 students' own primary schools physical premises

For SNGS, DD primary school was informed and DD was contacted by the teacher in charge of arranging e-interview on the venue and reporting date/time. Form teachers were also informed.
Will the secondary schools also informed the prinary schools regarding the shortlisted candidates and the date & time of interview? This means at our end, we just wait for school admin/ Teachers to contact us on what time and where to report on the interview day?
OR
Do we need to forward the shortlisted email/letter/SMS to the form teacher so that form teacher will inform school admin to arrange?
The process is not clearly stated.
For NYGH, so far have not received email from primary school teacher in charge of the e-interview on the arrangement (as oppose to SNGS where primary school emailed on the following day after we received the email from SNGS). As such, we forwarded the email from NYGH to the teacher in charge as well as to the form teachers. -

your daughter got very high chance, to receive St Nick (Bilingualism) CO, because both her (Bilingualism award + her Translation award) will stand her in good stead ! Having one Bilingualism award on its own, is already very good. Plus Translation award some more, another second award, will help her seal (secure) the CO. Very good, well done indeed
Keep it up !
That means your daughter's primary school is those whereby the P6 classes are \"Mixed Ability\" (apply modern concept) type, ie not based upon 2018 P4 year-end results streaming, got streamed into Top two 2019 P5 classes, because some other primary schools are still based on this old, former traditional concept, where the schools prefer to still keep the Top two or three (P5, follow up into the same P6 class) classes intact.
for e-interview,
primary schools' admin group up the short-listed P6 students 3 by 3, per (each) group, for e-interview, from different primary schools, using Zoom technology. Technology really wonderful (amazing), because provided a round-about alternative solution, can still allow DSA e-interview to be conducted, inspite of covid virus pandemic
Thanks for the compliment. DD not sure if she did enough during the e-interview as it is quite short (less than 1 hour with 3 applicants having the interview at the same time) and no essay writing. Understand that different schools conduct the e-interview differently plus with online environment wonder how written assignment (if any) will be conducted. DD had 2 teachers plus 1 (that handle the equipment setup) around (of course quite a distance away) her during the e-interview. Hope to compare notes with those (academic domain) whose DD/DS had already gone through the e-interview and how the workflows are like for other school. Still have 1 month before NYGH e-interview thus can better prepare DD. Will also like to know if anyone knows how DSA (leadership), in particular RGS, is conducted previously. DD did apply RGS DSA (leadership) but still no news yet. DD classmate's SNGS DSA (leadership) e-interview will be this week. -

Primary school teacher/admin will setup the equipment for use with Zoom meeting. DD was advised to bring own earpiece or headset with built-in microphone (for better audio clarity or hygiene) but in the end didn't use the one she brought as DD school uses telephone call into the Zoom conference bridge.

My DD attended SNGS bilingualism e-interview last week.
3 teachers (only 2 posted questions) with 3 applicants.
For individual, asked 3 questions (1. Introduce yourself 2. Which other schools did you apply for DSA 3. What you like to do in spare time).
For group,
was asked to read an article and asked about opinions on certain topics related to article. Did converse in Mandarin but according to DD, not really a lot of emphasis. No essay writing and whole e-interview lasted less than an hour.
DD will be attending NYGH bilingualism e-interview on 5 Aug. Will be great if other can share the format of how other schools conduct their bilingualism or academic domain DSA e-interview, e.g. DHS should be over, correct?
