      Jacqueline Chua:

      Dear patntee,

In my experience, kids may fail these vision screening for many reasons. Often they may not understand the instructions. These screenings are usually conducted by nurses. A fail would mean that your daughter needs a full eye test. It does not necessarily mean she needs glasses. I would bring her in for an eye test. If your daughter is 7 or younger, she needs to see an optometrist, not optician.

      Hope that helps!

Thank you for your reply. Her recent eye screening result at school is really bad at 6/24 and 6/36! We got a shock as last year was 6/9 for both eyes. She didn't complain about not being able to see properly in class or the TV at home. We just observed that she doesn't maintain a good distance when reading and writing and always corrects her when we see it. Will bring her to optometrist over the weekend.

patentee, how old is your daughter?

    • RE: Travel: Thailand - Bangkok

I stayed in the berkeley hotel pratunam. Value worth. Location quite good.

Across the road is platinum mall. At night, the street is like night market. Clothes are cheaper than platinum mall. 10min to baiyoksky night market. 10 min walk to central world, the erawan shrine is nearby. Another 10min walk is siam paragon where ocean world is. Dinner mainly at siam square, alot of restaurants over there. Hello kitty cafe is located there too.
We either take taxi or walk. A trip is about 100b, about 4sgd. A trip to chinatown is 200b. Chatuchak market cost us more at 300b. If you allow the taxi to bring you to some shop before heading to your destination, a trip is only 20b. For 4a2c, i think it is more worth than taking train. If we walk in the day, the street is also full of stalls.
Other hotels nearby that i find it more accessible is watergate, novotel and grand diamond.

      princezjo, thanks for the info..

DD is going to p1 next year, I am quite worried if she can cope with the stress in pri level. After seeing your post, I feel glad. 🙂
I think when they start to feel the stress at p3, they are bigger and should be cope to the work load better.

    • RE: Pee into a bag...

there is nothing wrong. if the child want to pee, then how. At least she used a bag. Some kids are very playful, they will look for toilet when they want to pee despite their parents keep asking if they want to go pee. Then how?! IF they can control so well, then they are not kids.

I wonder those who are against the kids that pee outside, maybe your parent did let you pee outside as well when you are young, Maybe you have forgotten.

      Why post it online?

    • RE: Tried and tested useful household tips

      Hi,

Is it common to have ants in your house?
I always see the ants crawling outside the corridor, as I am a clean freak. I am worried that ants go to my house. I am scared that they start their nest at my house and I will never aboe to get rid of them. :slapshead:
