anyway i expect for Nan chiau competition will intensify either next year or the year after cos the anchorvale horizon will be ready by 2013 to 2014 and many parents will try for Nan chiau which is ,1km from anchorvale horizon. After 2014, the condominum near the MRT are up and the BTO flats are up opp the temple, the competition will be worse and i think phrase 2b will need balloting

Thank you so much for yr feedback. I'm wondering how do I go about doing volunteer work for SHHK? I have only joined them for more than a year. Is there still time to do volunteer work? So if I'm lucky enough to get the referral letter, do I still need to ballot? However, if I didn't manage to get one, that means I have to go for phase 2C right? Then if still can't get in under 2C, can I apply for anchor green under 2C? Anchor green is my 2nd option. Is the school good? I have heard lots of good reviews about it. Anyone here has any opinion about the school?

My Dd very sensitive and soft. If I scold her she react like baby. Talking like baby. son was so matured in k2.her grandmother let her to do whatever she wanted. Sometimes I disciplined then she cried ended in vomiting. So I just left. Now she became a pamper child.another thing experienced with my son he has lack of confidence. So I scared to punish her more . Don't know how to bringing up the kids.

I also try not to punish my DS too hard such as using canes or shouting at him loudly cos I know that by doing so can cause him to lack of confidence. Usually I'll try to talk calmly with him but if he still misbehave, I'll just send him to naughty corner or take away his favourite thing. Usually this works better than time out. But the thing is my DH is quite harsh on him at times my DS misbehave. He said sometimes soft approach doesn't work. It's really tough bringing up kids nowadays.

My DS will be registering for P1 next year. We are aiming for Nan Chiau Pri Sch as we are staying within 1km. Being a SHHK member since last year, I’m wondering what is my chances of getting into this school. I would greatly appreciate any feedbacks of the school. Thank you.

In fact dear mummies, most children will be able to cope P1 with regards to the teachers expectations and work load. It's not as bad as you may presume. Teachers will generally start at a slow pave and speed up later in the year when the class is more adjusted. As for attention span, most P1 kids are attention deficit. Only in severe cases where children are suspected to be suffering from ADHD will the teacher be very concerned if the child can cope. Even if the timetable lists 3 English periods in a row, don't expect the teacher to do 1 and a half hours of solid teaching. It could be a variety of activities which includes singing, reading, role play and writing.

Nice to \"meet\" you! I'm so glad to hear that from you. Btw, under what circumstances will the teacher suspect that the kid is ADHD? Cos ADHD symptoms are quite general.

Yah,they quite don't understand and want to do their own way.Hope they will matured by end of K2.Need to train them.very tough job.I think more harder,time consuming and critical time now.we have to prepare for P1.but don't panic.Slow and steady will work.

Ya this is what I believe too. It really depends on their maturity n every kid is different. So let's guide them slowly n steadily though it's gonna be tough. Let's hang on!!!

My DS can sometimes concentrate on his hw for half an hour or so…at times he will just write a few words n started to get distracted n do other things. He always like to go to other pages which he’s not required to do/have not learn yet n said he wanna do those. So I have to keep telling him that those are not what teacher wants for his hw. As for his handwriting, he has improved… at least it’s neater than before but still he will forget when to use upper case letter n when to use lower case. But again, since he has improved I’ll just hv to give him more time to practice. I praised him for his neat work n he will be happy.

The problem with my son is his short attention. I’m starting to worry if he can sit thru class in p1 next year. Does anybody here have the same concern as I do?
