I'm not sure whether K1 can start the weekly lessons. I always thought that K2 is the minimum. The class is conducted in Metropolitan YMCA at Stevens Road. If you are a YMCA member, you pay $480 for 8 lessons, else, $490. This is for k2 class. I'm not too sure about the class size though.

My suggestion is to go for the holiday sessions first, let your DS try it out, see whether he likes it first before committing yourself to the weekly lessons. You can also take a look at the materials to have a sense what they are teaching.

My son is currently in the K2 programme. So far, he looks forward going to the class. Every lesson, there would be a piece of work which requires them to think creatively on what to draw. e.g. a blank piece of paper with the letter "U". the kids are expected to think out of the box and draw something out from that… other than that, there are lessons that would teach them logical thinking… i have seen patterns, sequencing of events etc. basically, it’s to teach them that there are more than possibilites to one question.

The PV is quite tough lor, got to wake up extremely early on two days of the week to do traffic warden duties. The sky is still dark when i wake up, can practicall hear crickets sounds lei. The things we do for our kids… haha.

ya, perhaps when you join PSG, you can jio more parents lah to come this form lah. You would have more influence over parents ? keke.

We are a family steep in Chinese culture and speak Mandarin at home. I came from River Valley High. I hope for my children to be in a school which will give them good Chinese tradition and background.

My hope is hinged on getting into earlier phase via clan association. Any kind souls can help us with SHHK membership registration?

Hmm, i think the SHHK route might not be so viable for you now. even if you have two persons who can refer you for the SHHK, it would take some time to get your membership approved by the committee. Apparently, the committee only meets like twice a year.

You have only one more year before the 2012 registration, not likely that you'll get the letter (subject to vacancies versus demand for the school of choice). SHHK would give priority to members who had joined longer than you.
