Ya, RI 1st choice.. Actually DS only wanted to apply for RI (his dream school) but we advised him apply for one more school, so he applied for HCI as well. What about your DS?
he is very laid back type...still taking his own sweet time...but probably will be RI 🆒

Thought it is >80%, then no GAT. Has it changed to 83%?
Sorry for the consudion PiggyLalala  It's still 80% unless they change it next yr...83% was taken from yukilei's post which also means definitely no need to take GAT tt's all...sorry again

my ds told me that if he can score >83%, (as good as your ds), he'll only try 2 sch so that he'll not take up other CO. Trying 2 & not 1 is because there's no guarantee. However, if he gets < 80%, he'll try more since the chance of getting CO is much lower.

The >83% may not be a quarantee also, if you are thinking of that particular boy school most of the boys wants to go to. Your kids got to be an octopus of all trades, some of these may be helpful to increase their chances: prefect, SO/MO high metal winners, leader in their CCA group, high achiever in some sports, music proficiency, number of visits for open house, natural public speaker, etc etc. Do we really have such a perfect kids? :scared:

I believe there r such kids ard but not many...however...it's always good to score > 83%..........at least no need to take GAT (RI case)...lesser stress(for parents...not sure abt the kids) 🆒

      Hi Augmum
      1. GEP kids & parents are no different from other kids and parents represented here in Kiasuparents.
      2. They all place a lot of importance on education and the school they go to to give themselves the best possible opportunity to develop to the best they can be.
      3. Getting a DSA CO/WL is not a guaranteed thing for a GEP kid. 10-20% of all GEP kids do not get any CO/WL at all.
      4. Put yrself in the shoes of a GEP kid/parent & wld u apply for RI/HCI only(for boys) & RGS/NYGH only (for girls)? Or wld u also apply for a good school like DHS as well on top of those above ?
      - If you say u wld apply for RI/HCI or RGS/NYGH only, I wld salute you for your bravery
      - & if you say if u were a GEP kid/parent, you wld also apply for DHS on top of RI/HCI or RGS/NYGH I wld also salute you, for your honesty.

      That's all.

      Vlim, :udawoman: :salute:

What's tt gonna do with Vlim??? :scratchhead: :?

      Seriously, Folks ....
      Jokes Aside ....
      Must Exercise Care ....

Last Year a Gal with CO did not Get into RGS due to some Error in the OnLine Submission ....

Upon Keying in the system, the Gal's Parents did not check to Ensure Received Acknowledgement of Successful On-Line Submission.
And So = No Acceptance of CO = No Place Reserved.

Appeal Was Not Successful, and the Gal End Up Studying in Another Sch ....

HUH!!!!! I will die of heart attck if tt happened...I feel for them man  :faint:

if RI dun offer triple science - then what double science combination does RI offer now, at Year 5 & 6?

      chem & bio,
      physics & bio,
      chem & physics ?

triple sci still offered for sec 3/4...but no longer offered at JC lvl as they need to take one contrastng subject from humanities (except for NUSH whereby u still can take triple sci at yr 5/6)......
