Maid complaint employer made her wash plates at mil pl. I didn't know its not right until officer said maid is not suppose to do house chore except WP stated address. So I asked officer, 'can I ask her sit outside corridor n eat? Also give her a pile of water to wash her own plate?'

I have given the house address in detail. Unfortunately, MOM can't do anything because I don't have the detail when and where the maid's PT houses.
Sounds like a lucrative (illegal) business for her employer. I would report it!
To think abt it, I also don't really mind if maid do PT doing housechore in ppl houses instead of hanging ard with bad companion, having bf or worse selling their body. But knowing it's illegal makes me worry. -
RE: Suspect my maid has PT job on Sundays
Let say your maid get caught moonlighting, then MOM questioned both the maid and her Employer (you)…
MOM : You do know moonlighting is illegal. Why still you do it?
Maid : My mam knows about it
Mam (you): My maid did it behind my back.
Who will MOM believe? -

Errr... I heard fr my other neighbour that her employer knows about her (A) part-time job, in fact fr what I heard her employer (E) is not paying her salary... means she stays in E's house do general housework etc (E also rent out her rooms to foreign workers) then in A's free time go out to houses to earn $$. One house at least $200/mth (4 times a mth @ $50/time). In fact, E control which houses she will go to work. because somebody actually ask A for her service and A said to contact her mam and give her number. Then E will contact the potential customer.
You can ask them to stop the sharing of PT contacts or you will inform their employer and report them. Sometimes a little scare tactic work. If you know their employers, you might want to keep them informed. If it was my maid who was encouraging others to work PT, I'd want to be told. Better to be told by a stranger/ neighbour than by an MOM officer. -

Since the detailed info such as time, block & unit no. of workplace is quite hard to obtain, so it's means we can't do anything about it.
But if there's no detailed information or what, what can MOM do about it?
I was hoping at least MOM issue a letter to the maid (since i have given them the name, address and unit no of her residence) to remind her again that such thing is illegal. Not just a simple \"no we cannot help you on this issue\" -
RE: All About Life Without Maids
longmao.irene, ur reply is very encouraging. Thank u

Jus one silly question, I'm normally leave to drop my child at childcare and then to work about 7.15am and be back about 7pm. Is it safe to leave the slowcooker on for that long period of time? will the soup be dry by then? -

In my case, I don't want to loose my current maid.. but I want to get rid of that maids that sharing the part-time contacts with my maid. I'm so lost!!
We will terminate our maid's contract when her loan is cleared. So her moonlighting days are numbered. That's the only consolation for me. -

It's fair enough but to provide so detailed information (they also ask what time the maid will be at her moonlighting place) is quite unachievable. I can't possibly following her around. She travels by bicycle so I guess it's quite in the neighbourhoods. What if I follow her and she turns around and accused me of stalking her? This will make a police report against me.
Well, base on evident is fair isn't? The MOM is going to send their staff to catch her red handed, that's already the best they could do..... Don't tell me you expect the MOM to persecute the maid base on your words? :?
You can do your part by providing the name of the maid and the address of the alleged moonlighting.
I thought I can only report against the maid.. if happen I know where she works and I gave MOM her part-time address, will that house owner will be charged too? -
RE: All About Life Without Maids
I’m a FTWM and trying to prepare myself if my maid decided not to work for me because I don’t let her do moonlighting. I’m most concern about good healthy meal for my 2.5 years old daughter. By the time I come back and pick her up, it’s already 7pm. Any advise on how to prepare her healthy dinner? for me & my husband, we don’t mind catering and all… but I prefer hcf for my daugher.

RE: Suspect my maid has PT job on Sundays
I have contacted MOM to report on the moonlighting maid before. Actually, it’s none of my business but I did this because that maid is talking to my maid about how good is the $$ and now my maid is begging me to let her do it on off day.
But unfortunately, MOM didn’t entertain me much. They asked me to provide them with evident on what time is the maid go for her part time job? where is the address? etc… so they can jus simply wait there to catch her red-handed. Of course I won’t snoop ard and follow that maid. I’m not so free. So nothing happen. As employer, we just have to accept the fact that MOM is only interested to the welfare of the maids.
