Do OG & Robinson sell it?

What other food do you cook with this pot?
my parents, in-laws and I use non-Tiger type but I dun think they are any less effective. OG ones are probably among the cheapest @ $50~60 for members.

My mom usually makes those traditional cantonese soup such as lotus roots, some tuber (dunno name), chicken/veg soup, beef stew...things which were cooked over slow charcoal fire for hours in the old days.

I find it good for cooking desserts such as barley, green/red beans because it cuts down the cooking time so I don't have to stand and watch the pot in case it boils over. šŸ˜„
both my daughters got into gifted too , but my eldest didnt want to leave her school . i find it very wasted . my youngest daughter was willing to change , however , and now in raffles girls primary school ! she got into RGS through DSA already , but i think DSA being easier for GEP is not good as they will slacken and not try as hard for PSLE just because they get in already .
But that is exactly what they are being tested on - intellectual.

It's not that unusual to hear of foreign students studying the dictionary to improve their vocab. If I ask my dd to do that, she would scream child abuse  and I'll probably to hauled up by the teacher for being an \"extreme kiasu-ist\".
perhaps it was a wrong choice of word. My point is that those selected, although there's little doubt they are way above the average Joe, they aren't necessary the top in their cohort.

Then again, that may only be my perception. šŸ˜„

Puffer:
I've read that article and thought so that the writer was referring to the foreign students who are usually older. Most PRC students I know of are a couple of years older, usually very good in Maths, but not so good in English. It kinds of balance off isnt it?

I was also thinking along that line. No need to be too sore about the age advantage as I believe the tests are not just on the intellectual level of the kids. šŸ˜Ž

One question to ask ks member here....

The table below shows the melting points of substances P,Q,Rand s.

Substance Melting point (deg cel)

p 49
q 5
r 23
s 0

At 20 deg, which of the above substances would have changed from a solid state to a liquid state?
p only q only
p and r only q and s only

Can check what is substance p and r are?

what is 20 deg to 49deg and what is 20 deg to 23 deg as in what state is that?thanks

rgds
try to relate this to something familiar, eg, ice which melting point is 0 deg C.

when temp is anything higher than its melting point, eg, 20 deg C, the ice (s) will start to melt. Similarly, 20 deg is also higher than q's melting point so it'll also melt.

Since substance p & r only melt at higher temp than 20 deg C, it'll remain as solid.

Not important what they are as this is a test for the understanding of melting point.

• RE: Q&A - P3 Math

wangsoon:
My son has school homework which I was not able to do without resorting to algebra. Hope you can help.

(1) 3 similar apples and 3 similar pears cost $7.50
(2) 5 apples and 4 pears cost $11.
What is the cost of 1 apple.

Any ideas?
from (1), 12 apples and 12 pears = $7.50 x 4 = $30
from (2), 15 apples and 12 pears = $11 x 3 = $33
therefore, 3 apples = $3 or $1/apple

Muffins:
Hi Dharma and Tianzhu,

The answer I got was also $69.60!

Could you pls show me how the answer is $47.80 (or $47.78 ) and why my answer is wrong? :?

Thanks in advance.

Muffins.
Dharma:

Hi Tianzhu,

Got a different answer .... is it something to do with the \"120% more\"?

120% - $8.64
100% - $7.20 (1kg of beef)

220% - $14.40 (2kg of beef)
100% - $ 6.55 (1kg of venison)

4kg venison + 3 kg beef = 4x$6.55 + 3x$7.20 = $47.80 ($47.78 if use calculator)

faith2u:

Meimei would be given 20cent for each greeting card she sold. In addition, she would get $4 for every 10 greeting cards sold.. How many cards did she sell if she earned $80?

if she sells 140 cards, she earns (140/10)x6 = 84
if she sells 139 cards, she earns (130/10)x6 +9x20c = 78+1.8 = $79.80

so she could not have earned $80, she is owed $4.

by the way, people smart about maths should also use maths intelligently to make decision. Assuming in above case, if she earns $79.80 selling 139 cards, she should be intelligent enough to know that by selling one more card she earns $4.20 and not $0.20, so logically she should buy that one card herself! šŸ˜„

unless the card cost more than $4! šŸ˜„

I was also pondering on how to look at this question from a P4 POV.

1) ice should start at 0 deg C. This rules out (4)

2) water in the tt will start to cool down but will not drop below 0 deg C. Only (3)
