RE: HDB and Condo
Been using Yale’s digital lock. Find it convenient. I use the tap card whereas my children use their code numbers
Hmm… we went away to Sweden for 2 weeks last year, all ok , no issues.
The good thing is ,if for some reason you need someone to go to your home to check something, you can tell him/her the code number and then you can change it afterward.
The battery ;lasts more than a year, and it will beep when batt is low. -
RE: Marymount Convent
JSHS23:
Hi JSHS,Hi everyone can some parents give some
Reviews on Marymount convent?
How is the academic standard and how are the teachers there?
My put my 3 girls through this school. they did well. One has graduated with Hons from SMU, one is starting Uni and my youngest is doing her \"A\"s this year. The school have had many holistic programmes, besides good academic ones, that had benefited my girls. They enjoyed their 6 years there, and when they were in their Sec 1 & 2, they went back to help at school holiday camps and to visit some teachers.
As for the teachers, I guess some (from my girls' time) may have left and there are probably some new ones, so I cannot comment much.

RE: Marymount Convent
Hi Yvonnelaureina,
When my eldest daughter was studying there, we were staying at Admiralty. The was an 'express' school bus that picked up 8 girls living in Sembawang + Admiralty and he would then drive straight to school. Perhaps you can call Marymount Convent and ask for the bus contractor's telephone number, and check out the rates and timing.
I am unsure about online registration, because I have never done that. :imsorry: -
RE: Kindergarten school @ Choa Chu kang
Hi ,
I went to the Directories of KiasuParents and keyed in Choa Chu Kang, and there is a list of kindergartens located in Choa Chu Kang and nearby like Teck Whye, maybe you try that?
It's hard to recommend, but you may want to consider shortlisting a few and visit the premises, have a word with the teachers etc...? Hope you find my suggestions useful

RE: GreenPan Cookware - Any Good?
Managed to locate the agent, I was informed that the non-stick coating has 2 years’ warranty.
The office staff there were helpful and took time to explain that I should not use non-stick pans over high fire, must be low or medium heat, and should not use 3M coarse sponge to scrub the pans. Fyi -
RE: GreenPan Cookware - Any Good?
I bought a fry pan and skillet, after few months, the non-stick wore off, not using them much but just keeping them.
When I bought them, I was told it came with warranty. I am wondering where and how I can have them replaced or trade them in as there is no rep office here…

RE: Northern Europe
Was in Sweden, Gothenburg and Varberg for about 2 weeks in Jan 2017. Nice and cold. And there were days when it got really cold, minus 19 degrees. One of my friends flew up north to Abisko to see the Northern lights, it was minus 26 there. Need good warm shoes to keep your feet warm, and of course, nice thick coats too.
Something unique - my Swedish friends booked an outdoor bath for us. This facility belongs to a hotel, but it is open to public as well. We were led to a wooden ‘hut’ with low ceiling. In the middle of this hut is a bbq pit. The staff had started the fire for us, which kept the hut nice & warm. We put our bags ther and went over to the changing room next to the hut, changed into our bathing suits and got into a hot tub that could seat 8 people. Was really nice experience, our bodies were warm in the hot tub but the snow flakes were falling down on our hair and faces. After 10 min, my Swedish friends were getting out of the hot tub and plunging into the icy cold (filled with ice cubes) tub nearby. They were yelling as they plunged in, haha, and just for 2 min they got out and came back in the hot tub. And again they yelled, they told me it was due to the sharp difference in temperature, they felt needles and pins on their skin. For me and my daughters, we chose to stay in the hot tub…
I love Scandinavia. Norway, Sweden and Denmark I have been, yet to visit Finland and Iceland - in my bucket list, haha.
I have flown on Qatar to Copenhagen, and on Turkish and Finnair to Gothenburg couple of times. SQ flies direct to Stockholm, fyi.
