RE: Catholic Primary Schools
Yes, the son is SC and not baptised. We never really thought about baptism but its probably something we need to consider now. He has never been to any Catholic Church here so he is also not sure how different it will be, compared to his "kampong".
My husband don’t have a baptism certificate. Everyone is a catholic in his "kampong" and they don’t issue certificates for such things.
Will we have problems if he prefer to baptise his son in his hometown instead of Singapore? It’s the kind of things that his mum would probably prefer to witness. -
RE: Catholic Primary Schools
Hi, my husband is an European and he is a Catholic. He doesn’t attend any Catholic Church in Singapore. We stayed within 1 km to SJI, and if we want to register the son, how do we get an endorsement by the church? Does it mean that he has to start attending Church services and which church would be the best?
Thanks! -
RE: All About Parent Volunteers (PV)
I am a Singaporean but my husband is an European. We are both not familiar with this PV approach.
We currently stay within 1 km from SJI. What are the other options for PV? My husband is a lawyer while I work in a bank. Beside directing traffic and gardening, is there other types of PV that we can do? My husband can speaks 5 different languages, so does that help? English is his 3rd language. -
RE: Crazy for bags!
sundaymorning:
Phillip Lim is not very common in Singapore. I think i have only seen it once. I also like Alexander Wang and I own one of them. Similiarly, I have only seen it once in Singapore as well. I think most ladies prefer LV, Chanel, Gucci, Celine and Balanciaga. Generally, I prefer IT brands/design that is less popular, also unlikely to have fake ones when you go to Thailand or Indonesia. Plus, I feel that if you rotate the bags regularly, they tend to last quite long as well. Same for shoes. If you carry the same bag/wear the same shoes every day, after 3-4 months, it looks very tired already.Hi ,
i am heading to las vegas and houston ! Gonna head over to the outlet mall too .
I am V into IT bags too , anyone heard of Phillip Lim bag ? its v Popular now ?
wondering how much is it selling in US . And i am looking for a prada wallet too , i read the forum , its about 350 USD :))) cant wait for the shopping spree to begin !
Of course, DH will say that this is a self fulfilling prophecy.
I still remember once, I went to Louboutin shop to get a replacement rubber for the heels and the sales guy asked me how often I am wearing my shoes. I replied once a week, sometimes once in two weeks. He quickly exclaimed that I am wearing it too often!! DH just looked at me and laughed non-stop. -
RE: Crazy for bags!
I am addicted to bags and shoes. :imcool:
Generally, I prefer \"IT\" bag, and I have my eyes on the Boy Chanel. Hoping to get my hands on one, when I go to Europe in Dec. Beside that, I haven't seen anything interesting.
My husband thinks I am more obsessed with shoes than bags, since I buy a new pair almost every month, and sometimes a few pairs in a month. June alone, I have bought 3 pairs of Jimmy Choos, 1 Valentino & 1 Alexandra Mcqueen. Blame it on the sale period... You have to stock up during sale!

RE: Any good Air Purifier to recommend?
ngl2010:
Anybody knows where to buy Honeywell air purifier?
I have seen a few of them in the Best Denki in Ngee Ann City. I am not sure if all Best Denki have them, and if they are still in stock. I bought my air purifier about 2 months ago, before the haze thingy. -

each preference.
i will never buy anything from Philips.[/quote]
I am not an expert but my colleague told me that Philips creates new spare parts for each products, in general. For example, if you buy a Philips vacuum cleaner, the old bags cannot be used for the new model. Each model uses a different spare parts. -
RE: London, Manchester & Paris
MMM:
Most European countries (Except UK) and US are left hand drive. We visited Europe long ago and with those insight tour.
I've been eyeing at either Europe or US next year. Thinking of doing f&e. Is driving feasible? Or eurorail is a better option? My only concern is lugging the luggage around.
We will always rent a car in US, unless we are in NYC. Trains & walking is the way to go in NYC. Outside of NYC, driving is more better. Cabs are not cheap.
In Europe, we won't rent a car in Paris & London. The train system works pretty well. However, once we are out of the major cities, my husband will always get a car. Cabs are enormously expensive and train system is not as effective.
