      Benny,connie and daniel had $8600 altogether. benny spent 4/7 of his money, Connie spent $380, Daniel spent half the amount of what Benny has spent. If they have same amount of money left, how much more money did benny have than connie at first?

      Benny's money --> 7 units, Benny's money left --> 3 units
      Connie's money --> 3 units + $ 380
      Daniel's money --> 3 units + 2 units (Benny spent 4 units) = 5 units

      Amount of money Benny had more than Connie --> 4 units - $380

      Total --> 15 units + $380
      15 units + $380 = $ 8600
      1 unit --> $548

      4 x $548 - $380 = $1812 -- Benny had $ 1812 more than Connie at first.

      cheers.

      Thank you....

      Mr Tan bought 5 kg of flour. He used 3/4 kg of it to bake some muffins and 7/8 kg of it to bake a cake. How much flour was left.

      I think there must have been a typo error. 3/4 + 7/8 = more than 1. Probably the question reads and 7/8 of the remainder to bake a cake.

      ya may be..

      Karen went shopping with total 50 pieces of $5 notes and $2 notes. After spending 10 pieces of ther $5 notes and 1/3 of her $2 notes, an equal number of $5 notes and $2 notes are remaining.

      1) How many $5 notes did she bring along?
      2) What is total value of $2 notes she had brought.

      i spent 1/9 of my salary on a television set and 5/8 of the remainder on a refrigerator. I saved the remaining $420. How much i did spend on the refrigerator?

      Hi
      spent 1/9 salary --> left 8/9 salary (remainder)
      spent 5/8 of remainder on refrigerator
      = 5/8 x 8/9 salary = 5/9 salary
      left --> 8/9 - 5/9 = 3/9 salary
      3/9 salary --> $420
      5/9 salary --> $700
      $700 spent on refrigerator

      cheers.

      Thank you. Understood.
