Another thing to add, closing the eyes to rest isn't the eyes muscles exercise. Often hear parents ask their children to close the eyes to rest thinking that closing eyes can prevent the eyesight worsen, which it's not the case.


The only proven way is to look, lock and focus on a far away object, do it a few times daily, result is amazing.

About the withdrawal of Atropine, the better way is to do a slow withdrawal rather than stop the application abruptly. You should start with reducing the interval of application, eg. from daily to alternate day, then after 1 month further space out the interval like once every 3 days.


You can also reduce the application by apply it on the alternate eye on the alternate day.

With the slow withdrawal, your girl’s eye muscles get to adjust to it accordingly. But I would think the intensifying of her myopia could be temporary.

Is your house generally not lit up bright enough? We tends to overlook the ambience light. Many households are not lit up bright enough to balance the ambiance light with the feature light. Especially the strong light from the TV, watching TV in the dim environment could worsen eyesight.
