CCA - Floorball

Any of ur DS already in Floorball ?

Do they practise 3 times a week ( or are all sports thrice a week anyway) & is it very competitive ie are there a lot of competitions to attend ?

RI Floorball is not very good haha. But yeah those and they also train during holidays. Competitions are during seasons.

Hi niceguy, not very good means ?? Is it they are not as competitive ? I hope they dont hv so many practices that affect their studies..

I am also looking at Uniform Groups for my son. Which is the least hectic of the lot ? Anyone knows about RedCross?

Oh ok. Cos mine has packed all 3 n the bag is extremely heavy. Probably will ask him to take out some

Yeh me too..the bag is pretty heavy & thinking tat tom will be the investiture ceremony, it's realli tough to carry the bag here & there..

Anyone knws wat time will the event ends? DS is learning how to wear a tie from some RI group members thru some video...quite hilarious.. 😂
According to the seniors, teachers seldom use textbook to teach. if not wrong, they always handout notes/worksheets. Textbooks are only for reference so dont intend to let son bring them to school.

      Orientation Camp 2013

Can someone advise if for orientation camp tmr, do they need to bring a small bag when moving around during the camp (to carry water bottle, poncho etc) ? They are advised to just bring one haversack/duffel bag for everything…

      Hi sunj1252 & firefly

Can share your ds experience in Scouts so far and whether you would encourage anyone to join this CCA ? My ds going to RI next year and he may join Scouts… am concerned if this CCA will take up a lot of his time and how many camps in a year ?
Because my ds does not have specificial sports, art or music gift, he joined 01 Scouts uniform group. Every Monday and Wendesday afternoon from 3.30pm to 6.45pm, sometimes activity on Saturday. They were asked to join several school camps for 3 - 5 days. There are a total of 3 major school camps, one for each school holiday. In this CCA, the boys have more physical training and learn outdoor skills.
Thanks sunj1252 for the info. Do they have to do jobweek & is it during the sch hols also ? For the camps, are they all compulsory ? 5 days camp is a long time ! I hope the trainings will not be too strenuous for them !

My son came back home after his three days SCOUT camp. SO DIRTY and SO TIRED.

DS came home from 2D1N RV Camp, tired but not dirty..
DS says there were lots of outdoor activities (DS looks like a lobster now), but no choir practices at all, during the camp..
DS says they slept in the air-conditioned classrooms.. 😄

      1) Anyone knows of any car pool available or interested in sharing ?
      2) any advice on school bus/ public bus transport there or back ?
      3) Also, is it difficult to get into CCA like Floorball ?
