beautyseek - why dont you just sign up at the road show after their assessment? I feel its better to meet the teacher and chose 1 that you prefer. You will get a discount voucher at road show. My son is at ICR. Not sure there is a referral discount but if you do need, you may pm me.
Grapevine - I do agree with Super-mom. Do highlight to the teacher and ask if he can be promoted so he will be able to cope with P1 reading and spelling. We did that last Dec and my son (same age as yours) is now in vol 3. every 3 mths or so they will open a new class (at least for the center we are at), so maybe its a good time to ask now as term just started.

RE: All About Getting Help for Students Weak in Math
I need to find help for my niece. She failed her A Maths
. Now in Sec 3. Probably a mismatch of tutor so we thought of finding her a new tutor. Northeast, east or central would be great. Wkend class only. Anyone can help to recommend? -

May i know which is better - Harbourfront or kovan I Can Read? Any bad experience with these 2 branches?
ICR Kovan is good. Go check out that place. You can see the teacher's profile pasted outside the school and you can select the teacher or the preferred timing.
Thanks! Sorry late reply as I didn't have time to visit ICR Kovan. We visited both centers with my son. He prefers Harbourfront so we have him assessed & registered last wkend.
The Teacher we met is great. She gave us a short but good explanation and is patient with my shy boy. Hopefully this programme is suitable for him. Keeping fingers crossed. -

RE: Tuition / Enrichment at Secondary level
I agree. Actually I am looking for my niece. She is not coping well with Maths and Chinese. But we have discussed with her and came to a conclusion that she will self study more for Chinese and get some help for Maths. If a student is doing well, its really no need to add stress and more homework to their busy secondary life. Its tough to be a secondary school student these days. So long study hours + CCA activities + group project.

RE: Club SAHM
tat's the most worrying problem - need to work on weekends
the reason I became SAHM is to take care of my son so how can i work on weekends?
Honestly, its hard to tell someone who intends to send their child to cc how good it is to look after your own child. They will tell you they can't survive on one salary, cant give up their perks (long overseas annual holidays, own timing, branded clothes/bags), their kids need all their enrichment classes or best they do not wan to do housework so they need a maid. If got maid cannot dont work (no govt subsidy) & might as well get her to take care of kids at the same time. -
RE: Club SAHM
I was working as personal assistant or secretary for many years. Qualified to b a corporate secretary but very little work experience in this area esp for pte ltd. Besides admin work, I also Hv experience in organising workshop, group overseas travel too.
