P5 and P6 Chinese Oral has 3 components1. Reading - 20 marks2. Picture Discussion - 20 marks3. Conversation - 10 marksIn PSLE, the student and the 2 examiners will be separated by 2 table-length apart. So you have to project your voice loud and clear so that the 2 examiners can hear you. if you are too soft and muffled, marks will be deducted. For Picture discussion, you are expected to discuss the picture and give your own opinions along the way. I heard that if the child is not very good with this section, normally the examiner will try to prompt a bit, to make sure you can at least pass. Here, correct use of vocabulary to describe the picture is important. The conversation topic is normally some topics related to the picture. For example. if the picture is about Children’s Day celebration, the conversation topic could be "What is your favorite school celebration and why ?"I have heard that some very excellent students score full marks for PSLE Chinese oral. No prompting needed, fluent, good opinions, good introduction and conclusion.Hope this helps.

Usually, schools accept British English, but in rare occasions, they also accept American English…British English is the more correct way of spelling though, it may earn you less marks in compo if you use American English…

But even if dun fry oso the food smell might stick to you. Eg, if you have to handle raw seafood, cut onions and garlic, all these smell will cling onto you.

thanks daisyt.Am still trying to cope with this situation and have replied your email.rgdsdaisyt:Hi Hi joy, change of attitute and become rebellious is very common and its a matter of time. At P4, maybe a bit too early. My own experience for my girl is at P6.I suggest, you could sit down, 1 to 1 talk to her seriously about the changes on her that you have noticed and list them down. I feel that talking to her about your feelings is important too. Did you observe if the change is due to friends or classmates ? Kids at this age like to learn from each other and get influence. Or other factors eg. TV programme ?

Bought the P5 series from my dd's school bookshop. All students are made to purchase to supplement maths textbook. I bought additional copy to do myself so that I can better understand the concepts and coach my dd when necessary. But must admit I turned to answer page for quite a few questions Think it should be available at his enrichment centre

For my students, I will cover the topic first. Basics, followed my challenging questions. Once they’ve covered enough topics, I’ll give some practice papers (around 1 per subject per week). Around 1-2 month before mid yr exams, we would have covered all topics for exam, I’ll start giving more practice papers (2-3 per week). At the pace I’m teaching them, most of my students who start in Jan are able to finish around 3-5 different books (2 topic by topic, 2 problem solving and 1 advanced maths for higher ability students) plus the whole set of exam papers. If you set a steady pace, it’s quite easy to complete. My students normally complete the topic by topic during lesson and they have around 3 - 5 pages of work per day. I always tell them to be disciplined and do some everyday to spread out the work and don’t do work at the last minute. You can tell from their handwriting and answers if the work was completed at the last minute.
