@geraldine_y Hey Geraldine, coincidentally my child is also a student with Vivian. My child love the piano classes taught by Vivian, and she is getting my child ready for her ABRSM Grade 2 exams.

RE: Pasir Ris good tutor to recommend
@Jasline09 Would recommend Frankie my current tutor for science. He is a former MOE teacher turned full time tutor, and is patient who is able to develop the interest in the subject for my child. If you would like to know more, can contact him directly at 81393075.

RE: Grateful to Teacher Jenny for Chinese tuition
Such a coincidence that I also engaged teacher Jenny as my tutor! She is a patient tutor who is willing to go the extra mile to help my daughter in the language, and able to develop her interest in the subject. My daughter has seen improvement and did quite well for the end of the year (13/15 paper 1, 37/45 paper 2)
The only thing I have to say is that her schedule is often real tight, so for any parent whose children need help in the language do chat with her soon. She usually tutor in the North east area based on my understanding from conversation with her.
Paying this forward since I got her contact from kiasuparents. -

Hi Karyn, you can try contacting Frankie who is my current science tutor. He is a patient and knowledgeable tutor who personalises his teaching plan based on my child’s strengths and weaknesses. We hire him for about a year so far, and we are happy with his tutoring. He usually teaches in North east so not sure whether he would travel up to the North. Hope it helps!

Forgot to add that you can contact him at 8139 3075

Hey Larry, looks like we got the same tutor! Yes Mr Cheah is very experienced and was able to focus on the sections that matters (open ended one), and focus on answering using the right words/phrases. My son has been with him for close to 1.5 years, with him this year going to PSLE. It was the first time he got a 8x after moving up from a late 6x since P5. Right now he has greater confidence with the upcoming PSLE. Yes do all other mummies and daddies in the forum, if you need a good and responsible science tutor, you can check with Mr Cheah at 8139 3075.
Will like to recommend my current science tutor Mr Cheah who conducts group tuition over at his place over at Seng Kang. He is very experienced, being a former teacher who left quite a number of years back to focus on giving science tuition. My son (who is in p5) is the type where he is able to learn better in a group setting as he gets bored with 1-1 tuition. After engaging a few 1-1 tutors, decided to give a shot at group, and since his place is walking distance from my place decided to give it a shot. After a few sessions, my son seems to enjoy his group class, and managed to find study buddies for his class (there were 2 other boys in the class he attends). He also managed to pass his latest science test with a B grade (previously he only managed to scrap by or just failed). Even though it is still early days, but I am impressed by how my son has performed. His fees are also much more affordable than having 1-1 tuition which helps me a lot, but most importantly is that the learning environment seems to fit my son. If any of you are interested, can pm me so i can give you his contact. Happy sunday all!
