Yes, I think you are right. PV is closed already for those born in 2006. For some schools, PVs need to clock in 80 hrs, so you need to start PV 2 years before.Those which need 40-50 hrs need to start 1 yr before. From what I know, the PV batch for 2006 should have started by this July.


Are you looking at doing PV for TKPS? You can always check out the school website and call the school office to check. Some schools do not even have PV programs.

It is definitely approved by SEAB. Otherwise, if they sell the unauthorised model, they will get a lot of feedback, complaints and requests for refunds. Usually, the school will have approved/granted for the sale of those models before the vendors or the school bookstore vendor can go to the school to sell.

Next, many schools are subscribing to this magazine. (View Feedback on their website) This mass subscription in the schools has to be approved by the Math HOD in each school. So, this publication is recognised to be useful and helpful for the child’s learning in Math.

Also, this magazine is reader friendly and attractive, content is pegged at the appropriate level for the mass Singapore Math students in that level. It has many interesting content which is not covered at all in the Math textbook. As a parent, it will be diffcullt for you to search for age appropriate reading cum enrichment Math material for your child. There are hardly such materials available at primary level.

For example,while textbook only covers adding and subtracting of numbers, number bonds etc, the magazine also covers how the numbers come about, a little about the history of numbers. A littlle about how and why we are using the Number system now. What number system were there before this etc.There are also games, Math in real life applications like using straw to fold shapes, which is like origami. I bought that special comb, commonly known as "Ah ma" comb, to weed out the head lice & eggs in the hair.

But I used the special head shampoo more frequently, twice a day. Can be bought from the Chinese Medicinal Stores. Used for a week or so. Must leave the hair with the shampoo for as long as possible (half an hour or so). Initially, I used and washed away after a few minutes, which is the wrong usage.

Thinks it works quite well, together with myself, conscientiously pulling out the eggs from their hair everyday.

Hi, there's not much written on Tanjong Katong Primary. The school website does show a couple of good achievements both academically & non-acedemincally. Appreciate if the parents from TKPS could write-up a bit on TKPS. I'm interested coz firstly I like the fact that the sch is in a good neighbourhood, there's good balance between sports & acedemic within the school & it has a good international mix. It would be interesting growing up & having friends from around the globe.

Yes, I put my kids in here as I also like the 'interenational school' mix. But I think now it's not really the case anymore too, as more local as registering there kids in. This left with little seats for the foreigner's child in the last phrases of P1 registration in recentl years.

I personally like the previous principal, Mr Selean, way of doing things. He has all the drive and passion with the kids. ^_^

Teachers are approachable and if you are willing to work with them, they are more than willing to feedback on your child performance. So far, I've good connection with my 2 sons teachers. They help parents to help their child in different ways to improve.

Yes, school have schedule enough activities for kids other than academic. Sometimes, I've to run up and down to pick them at different timing for different activities.

Just my 2cents feedback..

\" International mix\" has its own good and bad points whe you enroll your child in the school. From the social point of view, they will have a good mix of friends from other countries (provided the class has foreign students and his/ her CCA provides opportunities for networking).

From the teaching & learning & discipline aspect, it can be something challenging as the class will not be as homogenous. The students can have varying learning entry levels for the different subjects. That's how I look at it. As parents, we have have to weigh what matters to us.
