My DS will be joining the NUSH family next year... and he is really excited about that!
I have a question I hope some experienced parents / students would be able to help shed some light on... What is the take up rate for 3rd language for 1st year students at NUSH? Are there more students taking the inhouse French or Jap compared to the ones offered at MOELC? Will taking 3rd lang be too heavy a load for the 1st year students, considering that there is already a big jump in the number of modules they will be taking compared to P6.
Any advice very much appreciated. Thanks!!

The current P was from Nan Hua right?
Nan Hua's average score and % of students scoring above 250 are higher than NYPS now.
ex Principal of NYPS ?
they swap schools ?
no.... understand she was from Tao Nan...
Indeed this year Nan Hua did well. The % of above 250 is quite impressive at 39.4% which works out to be about 114 students! -

I know of one boy who got 258 and got the offer of EESIS.mommyNg:
Looks like the number of students scoring 260 and above has dropped overall? Would that mean COP would drop too?
Need to know the cutoff for EESIS first cos for almost every year, COP of RGS and RI is about 1 to 2 points above the EESIS cutoff.
Last year's EESIS cut off was 258. Anyone scored 258 and got the offer? -

Does your son/daughter feeling nervous?
My boy does not feeling nervous...maybe he will feel nervous once step into school compound...that's what he said. Still holiday mood....
My DS has been nervous since about 2 weeks ago... keep saying he's worried because he thinks he made careless mistakes... praying hard tomorrow all will be well and I'm glad the wait is going to be over very soon!
All the best to all P6ers for tomorrow!!

Indeed time really zooms past! Seems only like yesterday when our little ones donned on their primary sch uniforms for the first time, walking wide-eyed hesitantly into their schools..., and now its the last week of primary sch life for them!!
Ya, time to say good bye..KSP:
1 more week for dd's primary school life....
2 more weeks to results release ..... :nailbite:
Dd says she wants to drop by her pri sch next yr, just like what her seniors do - to share their experiences abt moving on to sec school to the P6ers, visit the teachers. -

Which year was it when the student was in year 1?dyh:

Yup, heard DS1 mentioned to me :scared:
Oh... I didn't ask as I was like :yikes: Jump from Year 1 to 5 ?

:yikes: Yr 1 doing Yr 5 math??
This student is more of an exception than the norm right? :nailbite:
How do they assess him/her to know that he has the capability to skip 4 years? Who assesses? Or the student puts himself up for assessment??
Are there a lot of such geniuses in NUSH?
Wow.... :scared: -

DS' school called at 5.40 pm yesterday... informing us that we have yet to submit our DSA preference when we had already submitted the day before :yikes:
Was worried, so we called MOE just to be sure that our submission was captured. Apparently the school did not have the updated list.
I thought that the previous palpitating moment, waiting for DSA result was bad enough. This one was worse
I guess all these nerve-wrecking, roller-coaster feeling will only be over when PSLE result is out...
Wow, that's pretty scary. I just went in to do a double check on the confirmation of submission! :scared: -

Atan:
Yup! That's our plan too!!
we are in the same shoes. Form Teacher reminded my son today that we have not submitted. Looks like the school can check on this.
We are also deciding by tonight. I have tried the website and it seems to be working fine. In case of any problem, DS will submit to school tmr.

RE: DSA 2014
DSA submission dateline is tomorrow 3pm. Has everyone submitted? DS' primary school so nice, even called to remind us that we haven't submitted and that tomorrow is the dateline. (actually I'm curious to find out how they could tell we haven't submitted!!) :?
We are planning tonight to come up with the final decision and submit.... not sure about the rest of the parents, but we find it so tough to choose between 2 very good schools! Praying hard that we will make that right choice...
