Hey Thanks Turquoise,

Good info ..:)
šŸ˜„

I intend to call them about nearer to end of August for at least a \"closure\" if i don't hear anything still.
NYGH said that they have informed all the successful candidates' parents by last week. So I guessed those who have not received means 'reject' or 'wait list'??? Anyway, all applicants will get the status via postal mail by end August, whether successful or not.

Again another hear say and another 'unfairness' mentioned.

KSP65:
I have been following this forum and enjoying reading them.
I really doubt that you have been following this forum ??? :?
If you did, you will not have believe in hear say and starting another doubts on GEP students again.

Yes, even my boy need to go through interveiw at RI and also sat for a writing test cum interview at HCI and to date there is still no news.

Even if they are excused (so far I only heard about NYG), they must score above 80% in their SA1 at P6 which means they must be already the top 1%

Ok, this excused for test did not apply for boys applying for HCI and RI, even if they score 90%. (All this was mentioned in the earlier post)

Turquoise is definiitely right. KSP65 please re-read the complete forum and read them caredully if you are really keen about this topic. Thank you.
Please no personal attack here. We do not need experts that know the topic well to give their views. Otherwise this forum is only opened to moe/school/teachers.
There is no doubts on GEP students ability. The doubts is (sure some parents think the same) the selection is fair or not? Some schools allows GEP students to apply earlier, some schools allow GEP students to skip any screening tests. Isn't this priority given to GEP students for these schools?

Cheers :celebrate: Agree with Merlion.

But i think when the word \" unfair \" was used by some here ...i don't think they mean to mean really \"unfair\"...but simply = \" puzzling\" over the DSA entry req'mt...so just relax ... and continue sharing with one another here.
I have been following this forum and enjoying reading them. The very initial arguments started when somebody mentioned that the DSA selection was not fair. As some of the students from GEP do not need to go through GAT nor interviews and secured a confirmed place. Personally heard from RGS that most DSA places are offered to GEP students, not by GAT/interview, but because they are from GEP and with satisfactory school result! Would like to hear more views on this aspect only ..Is DSA more for GEP students only? Is it a fair selection?
