Hi, very sorry to interrupt in. I'm very new in the registration system for Primary one and don't know how many choice can we fill in the application form under Phase 2C. Can anyone tell me ? šŸ˜‚ I am 2.43 km away from the SV. got any chance ?

      Hi

when you apply, you have to choose one school and go down and apply.

use this link to measure the distance of the school from your home: http://www.onemap.sg/index.html

SV balloting is needed for <1km.

Thanks a lot, QMS!!! Now everything is so much clearer!

So that means those residing >2km in Phase 2B won't even get a chance to ballot, right?
So if they are still keen, they would need to try their luck at Phase 2C which depends on distance again?
most likely situation if there is no chance those residing >2km under Phase 2B, there is hardly any chance in Phase 2C as well as the priority are given to distance related applicants.

Are you applying for the 2012 intake or later on?

      Hi everyone,

      Anyone can confirm?

I was from Hong Dao Primary. Hong Dao and another 2 schools merged and form Anderson. So can i register my girl in Anderson under phrase 2A2?
Seems to be able. It merged with Ang mo kio north and Li Hua.

Safest is to call the school to confirm and what sort of proof is needed as well

      See some posting here:

hello.. wd like to share in this too... i am registering my girl in Anderson but i am not sure of the chances too though i stay within 1 km.. Am thinking of going for Teck Ghee for Phase 2CS if she fail to get in... not sure if balloting is required for phase 2CS for teck ghee?

I think high chance need to ballot for <1km in P2C. Look at last's year stats...61 vacancies for P2C and 93 applicants are <1km. I am thinking of going for Teck Ghee too for P2CS.

      Hi

      For Teck Ghee:

Past 5 years, no balloting needed for 2CS

      http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/content/ang-mo-kio

TUR this year is 38% until 2B, still seems to be within the threshold, although this a 5 % increase int he TUR until phase 2B as compared to last year.

      http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/event/p1-registration-2012-phase-2b

On the other side, anderson has a huge increase on this year as compared to the last 5 years. For P2C, it left 33 places.

You may used past record to plan your move. All the best.

For SJIJ, balloting for >2km, ratio is 8:1.

So is it that there are 46 applicants staying within 2km (Congrats!), and 31 applicants fighting for the remaining 4 places (Good luck!)?

Maybe someday someone will put similar questions in DS's Maths test question or problemsums.com! (77 applicants, 50 places, balloting for >2km, ratio is 8:1... how many applicants are >2km?)

Sorry but this is so lame... :siao:

Bingo, Have the similar idea, but too lazy to type it out.

It's still quite close for the 1-2km, but overall the take up rate for phase 1 and 2a still within the threshold for those within 2km a place. Balloting history helped alot to guide us through.

I am 1-2km from SJI and hopeful to send my youngest son there even though my girls are in a good coed school. (divorced and son is staying with Dad). I heard superb reviews about St Joseph Institution Junior from my colleague and cousins and my husband's mom (Son staying with her during weekdays) can walk him there so do you think my son stand a good chance?

      Hi

      Is your son a catholic?
If son staying with dad, is dad's address within 1-2 KM of SJIJ?

      Hi,

Need some advise from mummies registering in St Joseph junior.
To qualify for phase 2b, must both parents be Catholics?

      Thanks.
No need. Either one of the parent or child. Baptism cert of child will be sufficient.
