      zac's mum:
It depends which church you're from? I am also a Christian but unfortunately my church did not set up any schools in its history.

In Singapore there are Catholic schools, Methodist schools, Anglican schools and Presbyterian schools. Each denomination has its own rules about membership and how to qualify for Phase 2B priority.
We are looking at Anglican schools. Not sure how it will be like to have their membership? The church that we attended didn't have any enforcement on the amount of tithings we are giving to the church nor 10% of our salary as such

My hub is Anglican and I’m baptist.

If we will to join the Anglican membership, what’s the criteria?

Can I know what’s the Church membership all about?

My hubby and I are Christians and didn’t know anything about memberships.

What’s the terms and conditions to be a member of a church? On top of attending all the confirmation classes, do we have to contribute a fix amount of money to the church every month?

Hi mumenetan, according to my friend who got the unit at courtview, they had actually revised their TOP for courtview to June 2020. I believe there are still upcoming condos along Bartley to take upon consideration. According to the ruling, as long as the child will be residing at the address given within the first 2years of primary school, they could use their bto address. Looking at situation, for example, applications for 2019 and entering p1 in 2020, kids who are moving in only in 2021 are also eligible to use their address. That's very tricky. 😐

      Hi

I am also looking at MS for my boy but application only nxt year. P1 in 2019. Base on the past few year, https://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/article/toa-payoh/ record, there are stil quite high chances for SC less than 1km to get in, balloting for some years but its only 1-5 students din get it.

Then again, for this year, there is SC competition from Alkaff Lakeview as they complete in dec 2019. For next yr, more btos in Alkaff oasis are up.. more competition
Glad I'm not the only one having this concerns. I'm only getting to apply for my boy in 2019. I'm not sure how's the competition like even when I'm staying less than 1km from MS. When all BTOs are up. Take note that Alkaff vista and Alkaff courtview will also be up before Oasis.

Thanks for your advices phtthp and galaxyraider! Quite critical on my decision - if my first son gets in any, I won’t have to worry for my 2nd son born in 2015!

    • RE: All About Primary Schools' Balloting History

Hi All Kiasu parents my DS will be going through the P1 exercise in 2019. We got a unit in Bidadari and is within 1km from Maris Stella but we are not affiliated to the school nor is my husband an old school boy, what are the chances of me getting a slot in phase 2C?

We are considering St Andrews as well as my husband is an affiliated church member (phase 2B) there but seems like we are out of the 1km radius. We are actually more keen to go for MS due to the curriculum and ccas but afraid that our DS will ended up balloting for even less than 1km radius phase.
Any advises if we should risk it or just try our luck for Phase 2C MS or Phase 2B SA?

      phtthp:
you can study past historical balloting trend for Maris Stella primary, & other schools from here :-

      https://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/article/toa-payoh/

alternately, just give a call to MS office admin, ask them to give u an update.
      General office telephone is here:-
      http://marisstellahigh.moe.edu.sg/about-us/contact-us
That is one thing I'm unsure of not sure if I interpret the chart correctly. Based on the chart it seems like no balloting is required. However, looking at the chances where there are many new estates building up, wonder how the chances are like as compared.
