anyone recently went there? how is it?

I would like to know too. Going there in June and hopefully all the protest will have stopped. Any tips or places to must visit? :imcool:

i heard now still ongoing... shopping i only recommend platinum fashion mall and union mall if you are into fashion. For food you can go chinatown, theres a seafood place called T&K. The last time I ate 1-2 years ago was really good and cheap. dont know about now though. And just walk a distance theres a dessert stall Sweet Time if im not wrong. I like their honeydew thingy dessert (forgot the name). and nearby theres mango sticky rice from an old lady in a lorry. Ahh hope they're all still there when I return!

On a side note, the best tip I can give you is to NEVER EVER EVER listen to suggestions from taxi/ tuktuk drivers to go somewhere else and to know your research well. I totally got conned as I told the driver that I wanted to go to this famous restaurant. He told me theres a very good restaurant and asked me if it was -the restaurant name but with an additional syllabus- so I couldnt understand him accurately but I heard the restaurant name in part of his sentence. When I got there I saw the restaurant name with an additional syllabus. Never thought anything of it cuz i saw the place quite crowded. No menus, no price and just order. Got conned almost $800sgd for just a few dishes. Screw the taxi driver...

      puff:
I feel our govt not very supportive of SAHM or are we the forgotten group ...

For many years I feel this group of ppl are not being mention in our govt budget ( or even in encouraging child birth policy)
Our tax relieve is only 2k comparing to per child tax relieve is 4k.
Well most ppl would say tat if u can afford to be a SAHM your financial suitation must be alright hence dun need govt help at all. But I feel family with SAHM are being 'punish' instead.
For eg. a family with both parents working earning are more likely to pay less tax compare to a family with 1 parent working earning the same amt.

      Just ranting ..
Agreed agreed. My friend want to send her 5yo to cc cuz want to spend time taking care of her newborn. but cuz shes SAHM gov give little subsidies. I bet she could do a lot better with more subsidies.

    • RE: At what age to potty train?

i train her when she’s 17-18 months. what i do is every now and then ask her if she wants to go toilet, remove her pampers then seat her on the toilet bowl. and u just monitor her, if she pees then tell her if she wants to pee have to go toilet. until i think she is ready, i will remove pampers for few hours and try out. must be patient and supportive cos sometimes children dont have the bowel control yet. the best is if your girl always pee/poop at a certain timing, then u know when to bring her to toilet.
