bsk:My girl seem to be bit lost and worried with the secondary school maths and science and keep asking to send for tuition. Looks like different school teaches topics in different topic and I'm thinking whether tuition will be effective. Any thoughts ?
Hi, I'm assuming that your daughter just started secondary 1's syllabus not too long ago. I will actually recommend that you let your girl try to study on her own and see her results for CA1/SA1. The initial jump from primary to secondary's syllabus may be daunting for many but I believe that it will be helpful for your daughter to try coping on her own first. After all, learning on her own is a very important skills in later parts of education like JC or university.
In the grand scheme of things, I think letting your daughter \"struggle\" for a bit up to CA1/SA1 won't affect her later O Level results.
You can take this time to work with her on her study techniques etc, something I think is very undervalued and most schools don't teach!
