      Hi

I gave an urgent request. Can someone please direct me to a URL for S1 and S2 School NA Maths Papers. Need it urgently please.

      Does anyone share? :nunchuk:

Hi, tried looking around for you, sadly I couldn't find either. ๐Ÿ˜• What's your purpose for getting the papers? Is it for your child to study?

Also to add, JC makes more sense to me because if one did badly for As, he/she can still retake. No such thing for poly since GPA is cumulative.

Has your daughter asked teachers for help yet? If she hasn't, that may be start - sometimes a session or 2 to explain the basics will be enough to help.

secondary school teachers are more than willing to provide help if the student approaches. son's history, literature and chinese teachers provided lots of support...otherwise there is no way i can afford tuition and he has no time.

I second this. Moreover when students approach their teacher they are required to clarify what they don't know yet. This process actually helps a lot in making the students organise their thoughts and become more aware of what exactly do they not understand.

Thank you for your reply, masteryourmath .

The topic on General Wave Properties.
      Thank you.
Hi, as far as I remember, what I had done before was doing SPA with sound waves for General Wave Properties. That being said, I was from an IP school and as such I don't think it's fair for me to speak for O Levels.

May I know what's your intention for finding out how Waves will be tested for Physics SPA?

      Hi dear parents,

Iโ€™m curious if worse come to worst, what are your plans if your dear child doesnโ€™t get into the course that they want? Iโ€™ve my own personal anecdote to share but am curious to hear your thoughts.

My girl seem to be bit lost and worried with the secondary school maths and science and keep asking to send for tuition. Looks like different school teaches topics in different topic and I'm thinking whether tuition will be effective. Any thoughts ?

Hi, I'm assuming that your daughter just started secondary 1's syllabus not too long ago. I will actually recommend that you let your girl try to study on her own and see her results for CA1/SA1. The initial jump from primary to secondary's syllabus may be daunting for many but I believe that it will be helpful for your daughter to try coping on her own first. After all, learning on her own is a very important skills in later parts of education like JC or university.

In the grand scheme of things, I think letting your daughter \"struggle\" for a bit up to CA1/SA1 won't affect her later O Level results.

You can take this time to work with her on her study techniques etc, something I think is very undervalued and most schools don't teach!

      Hi all

May I know what could be possibly tested under โ€œWavesโ€ for SPA? :scratchhead:
What should the child take note and prepare for this topic?
      I would appreciate suggestion.
      Thank you very much.
      Hi,

Are you referring to the topic General Wave Properties as opposed to Light/Electromagnetic Waves? I don't teach Physics and it has been a couple of years since I did Physics SPA but I'll try to recall what I've done. ๐Ÿ™‚

      Hello,

If the FB group is still active, I will be more than happy to offer some tips and guidance to the students there. I am currently a NUS undergraduate and have tutored several NA or NT students in the past, hope to pass some tips along to them! ๐Ÿ™‚

    • RE: 2017 O Level ( Kids born in Y2001)

For all parents here, I'm just curious as to how do you and your child approach studies? Do y'all consider performance psychology etc? I am currently a NUS undergraduate who got First Class Hons last semester, have tutored on the side for the past few years. I feel that most people neglect the technique and focus too much on the content, would love to hear your thoughts. ๐Ÿ™‚
