Yes, have submitted the reply sheet to take the offer. Thanks for the advise.mdqs:
Hi, ngbrdad, thanks for the information. Seems like to take this TAG class offer is the better choice.
If you receive the letter inviting your kid to join the twinning system, take it. -

Thanks....maybe I might enjoy tag class after all! :imcool:
I agree. TAG class has its advantages such as smaller class size -25, better and nicer teachers according to my son. He does not want to go to mainstream class now cos he's really enjoying himself in TAG classngbrdad:
Personally I find that twinning really helped my DS2 in his development , not only in school work.
He is learning a lot of history , geography, general knowledge in social studies, picking up computer skill in CEP lesson etc.
It's the best of both world. You do mainstream math, science and English, probably at a more advance level compared to the rest of the classes, but take same exams in these subjects.
The they join and take same CL/HCL as the GEP kids.
They take the GE social studies exam too even though it's not graded. -

Is there any advantage for tag class in term of PSLE result?lwzh:
I think it is because it has only one twinning class instead of two since last year.
From what I know : the P6 twinning class this year is divided into 2 tag classes 6 tag 1 and 2 and 2 gep classes (6 tag 3 and 4)for english, maths and science. For Social Studies and Chinese there will be three classes, 6 GJ and K, and the tag pupils are mixed with the gep pupils. -

How do you know the GE selection? Is there a letter to show who are the next 2-5%?just888:
How many META classes are there?
Depends how many gets qualified for META (next 2 - 5%) based on GE selection. There are 3 META classes (I think) for this year's P4. -

Yes, the principal has said this 2 years ago too as a lot of parents complain about the heavy project work of Social Studies..
Does it mean MOE publish the GEP second run result to school?pinball:
Actually twinning class is made up of students selected by MOE based on their round 2 GEP test results, ie, not all students who go through to round 2 will be selected. These students are placed together with the GEP classes where they take GEP Chinese, Social Studies and all other non-examinable subjects together with the GEPpers. They are only separated from the GEPpers for Maths, English and Science lessons. Their class size is small - max 25, and they benefit from the teaching pedagogy of the GEP curriculum.
There may be some changes in the twinning class next year, According to NH principal, twinning class may not be doing the same Social studies as GEP. This is yet to be confirm -
