RE: Any Updates As To When PSLE T-Scores Will Be Scrapped?
Aren't there a lot of schemes and programmes for under-privileged families? :scratchhead:
I heard from my teacher friends they are working very hard to help weaker students from disadvantaged families. Remedials, counselling, etc. That the schools/ministry don't publicise teachers' hard work and intervention doesn't mean the teachers/P didn't do anything.

From what I know, MOE has done a great deal for the under-privileged families. The children who qualified for financial assistance will receive free uniforms, textbooks and school shoes every year, computer, coupons for food and drinks during recess and some need not pay for the school immersion trip. They also can apply for subsidised tuition. -

My boy also took mmrv. It’s very common. Don’t worry too much.

RE: BOOK Fairs
They do have loads of cookbooks, books for adults and toddlers as well. If I am not wrong, saw assessment books at 30%, 1 for 1 etc but I didn’t explore that section. And ya, they have stationery sales also.

I would like to know too. Must my child be selected by the school before he can take part in the competitions ? At the mercy of the teachers?

RE: 2nd property
thiasy:
Is there a drop in price for la fiesta comparing to its 1st launch?i have intention to buy a 2nd investment property near Nan Chiau Primary since my 1st one is fully paid.
Within 1km, there is compass heights, la fiesta & luxurie. psf wise, compass heights is cheaper. Those 3 bedroom units are bigger than luxurie and la fiesta. But my concern is the condo is built on top of the bus interchange.. unlikely for future enbloc right? Is there any possibility of price appreciation in future? scared v hard to sell off for a good price in future... any idea whether compass heights is a good buy as an investment property? -

Ever considered shop houses? It seems to be a popular form of real estate investment now. Although prices starting to climb too. Plus I think certain restrictions don't apply to these kind of property.
What is the tenure of these shophouses? Am not too familiar with commercial properties. My hubby told me most commercial properties come with 30 years leasehold only..true?
More assured to commit a residential instead cos not so complicated. -
It's true, life expectancy is longer now esp women. However, most of them are on wheelchairs. How sad and no quality of life.
We are aiming for a second property but unwilling to pay the ABSD. Argh, when will the govt remove this? :frustrated:
