May I know how do I interpret this figure from the balloting history? App is 543% for 2c no of school vacancies is 330. How do I read this? 543% X 330 = no of applicants for that phase??

Appreciate if someone could advise. My relative is for 2c tomorrow and I am checking on whether his odds are high. He is SC ,within 1km to ATS and more than 2km to marymount

For Aitong, based on the ballot history since 2006, SC<1km balloted for P2C. Your relative stays <1km, so at least he has a chance to ballot.

Read on few forum threads that Marymount is a nurturing school and some people predicted Marymount 2C and 2CS may have higher than usual applications this year, caused by unsuccessful applicants from St Nicks and CHIJ Toa Payoh. Ballot history says no need to ballot for P2C. P2CS may require balloting for SC>2km.

That's all I picked up from this website and various forum. At the end of the day boils down to how much risk your relative is willing to take. One way is monitor the applicant numbers and distance at both schools on Friday afternoon, and then decide where to register on Friday.

Does MOE update today the applicants who registered online?

I read somewhere on MOE website it says something like updates will be provided on 'each registration day'. But I can't find that message to attach here.... So if today is counted as a registration day, there should be updates this evening.

      Let's see.

I registered online just now. Got the acknowledgement slip.

Hmm.... maybe I should check physically at school tomorrow to make sure my application reached the school.

      No need to go physically.

Can call up the school at home, ask whether they had received your online registration ?
      Important -
Remember to ask for name of that person you talk to, over the phone.

Also ask this person over phone -
If u register online, how to know whether you will be informed of balloting or not, for yr distance ?
Are they going to call u on last day of 2C, SMS you, or what ?
      Also ask -
When to get confirmation that school had already enrolled you successfully under 2C ?

Ah thanks! Noted the questions to ask.
      Save me trouble!

Hi, is there got any chance in Princess Elizabeth Primary School (BB,West) for PR during P2C, looks were difficult to project base on historical chart...

Ya. I think it is difficult. It is a popular 2C school. Based purely on ballot history chart, last year SC >2km balloted.

    • RE: All About Full-Time Maids

advise please - my neighbour has been scolding my maid directly for chatting with her maid.

our kitchen windows face each other, so inevitably, the maids will have some sort of interaction.

I’ve tried telling my neighbour nicely that as much as we tell our maid not to talk to each other, if she has any further issues/discoveries, she can let me know instead of shouting at my maid directly.

she went bersek and started scolding me too.

is there anyway to resolve this? sigh.

I suspect your neighbour may already have certain issues with her maid. I would ask my maid to concentrate on doing our chores and minimize chatting.

I had similar experience. My maid bought apples for our neighbour’s maid who complained to her that she has no fruits. And of course these 2 maids chatted alot. My neighbour confronted me and they thought I’m too liberal with my maid. I just apologised and told my maid to stop chatting to the neighbour’s maid. I told my maid if she insists on chatting, the neighbour may just sent her maid home and she will feel guilty.

My maid sticks to her promise, she doesn’t talk to the neighbour’s maid anymore, at least openly. So it is peace again with my neighbour.

Just curious how a school justify the distance of 1km? 🙂

      The official tool is
      http://www.onemap.sg

Go to 'Services', select 'School Query',
click 'go', select 'find buildings around school',
then put in your postcode. The site will generate results and if you select the printer icon, you can see all the details.

Oops, should select 'find schools near buildings' to check what schools by distance are around your house.

    • RE: Opinions of the Primary School Registration System

I share same sentiment as 12mum. I can’t see why GRLs are given priority. There are so many groups serving the community like town council workers, policemen, social workers… By giving only GRLs priority, you are discriminating these other contributors. Best is don’t give.

PV deserves the priority because they put in sweat and some even tears.
