But honestly, to start music lessons, there is no suitable age to start. They can start anytime. Mine started on Kindermusik at 6 months once they were able to sit without support.

Does your child have chemistry with the teacher? How's the experience so far?

I find it kind of hard to quantify this, as chemistry is very subjective, and you never know until the child starts lessons with the teacher. Do you get to choose teachers in NAFA, or are there trial classes?

Maybe I should rephrase my question... does the same teacher follow through with a student from the lower grades all the way to the higher grades, or do they re-assign teachers for higher grade students?

Any one knows what are the minimum qualifications of teachers in NAFA? Do they assign the better teachers to the higher grades students, or there are no differentiation?

Different people use digital piano for various reasons, could be space constraint, budget, portability, etc.


Just one question though, if digital pianos produce the sound from a recorded tone, then who actually makes the tone? Is the tone made by the pianist on the digital piano, or from the pianist from whom the tone is recorded from? :scratchhead:

If latter, then how do you control the tone you make on a digital piano?

Hi, does NAFA require students to take all the theory exam grades? If not, how often, and what are the compulsory exams to take?

With digital piano option, I think the risks above reduce greatly. But do go and try it out. 'Hear', feel and compare the diff between an acoustic piano and a digital one. I know we can't really 'hear' the diff, but that's just exactly what I think we should end up - i.e. not hearing the diff between them. Many of the digital pianos are exam grade too.

Plus digital piano is much more versatile. It can be hooked up to the computer to produce music, different sound/tones, learning system etc.

But do try it out, get educated and compare.

Hi Greenwich, are you using a digital piano at home? Which model is good, ie. sounds and feels the same as an acoustic?
