a question to those who knows the answer: my hubby n I are looking to sell our own place and buy a new house due to the coming of the new member of the family 😄 😄 😄 . we just got the good news that our kid would be getting into the school in phase 2C within 1km from our current place. the school needs balloting though for sc outside of the 2km range. does it mean we can broaden our options for our new purchase as long as within the 2 click range? or we have to staying within the 1km range. this whole thing is really confusing to us. thanks in advance!!!!
      Based on what I have read, u still need to stay within 2km because u got in to the school through an advantage as others outside 2km had to ballot. The only exception for this is if the school DID NOT require any balloting and all who applied got in.

      @mummyvolk

      Don't mean to generalize but children are fickle and change their minds all the time. She could be bored of the current MK environment and hence said she prefers to go elsewhere cos its somewhere new. But if she does get into the target school, she might actually miss the familiarity of the MK environment and miss her friends since I presume most of her friends will enroll in that primary school. The MK carrot is too good to just let go for the hassle involved to move to somewhere for a chance to ballot at Phase 2C.

      But if you really don't wanna enroll her in the MK school, perhaps show her websites of other schools within your area that offer much better odds at 2C.

      Good Luck!! 🙂

      Is St Andrews Junior School (SAJS) a safe bet for Phase 2B, 1-2km for this year? I read that there were no PVs for this year’s registration which should increase my odds, is this true? Getting nervoussss
Hi, considering this year is SG50 babies enrolling for P1, may i check on your thoughts of registering for St Andrews Junior in Phase 2C, 1-2km? What do you think the chances are?

      Im debating between that or Hong Wen 2C, less than 1km? However, historically, Hong Wen has been very very hot in Phase 2C even for SC less than 1km. So Im counting my odds.

      SAJS probably ballot for <1km. At least HW have a chance to ballot <1km in your case.

      Last year St Andrew’s ballot for those 1-2km. I expect this year to be the same.

      However, this is only part of the story. For HW, we know that everyone < 1km will get a chance at that cherry. For SAJS, we do not know how many 1-2km is fighting for how many seats after those < 1km has taken them up.
Oh I was under the impression that SAJS only required balloting for >2km last year.

    • RE: LCentral Discussion

      Hi parents, jus sharing my view on Lcentral Serangoon. I switched my girl from I can Read to LCentral since end 2018 as I wasnt seeing any improvement after 1year+ at I can read. My girl is currently K2 and she is in the liftoff program. On a whole, I feel that my daughter has definitely improved in her reading and word recognition. She can read in complete sentences and no longer read word by word and she is able to understand the story. I’m happy with the result at Lcentral thus far and will also send my younger son to Lcentral next year.
