I finally managed to talk to Singtel staff who advised me to check with Standard chartered bank.
The exchange rate will be determined by SC. wonder if the maid will pay a less favorable rate at this bank…
It is hard to get information via phone nowadays and one has to think thrice before making a trip.

RE: Which chinese tuition is good for P3 who can't read or write?
I used to play 'Chinese charactor flashcards with my daughter in her primary school days. It is fun to recognise words this way as a start.
But if you can’t work with your child, then Kumon could be an option. It helps to talk to school teacher for suggestions too. -
RE: Remittance to Indonesia
My father’s helper was telling me she needs to pay the agent $10 to send money back to her family in Indonesia.
She said it’s quite expensive.
Is there cheaper way to do so? TIA! -
RE: Business ideas
If you are confident of the quality of your friends’ fruits, you may start small from your circles of friends to reduce risks. Through words of mouth over time, you may expand it online which would save on rental costs.
please check your pm. -
RE: Red packet for wedding couple
Noted with thanks.
I don't really know the son of this friend.
Yes, a wedding-theme album would be appropriate but I think the bride would probably receive one, if not more.
so I would give a ang-pao whose amount is to be determined in due course.

RE: Red packet for wedding couple
I have been invited to a church wedding by a JC friend whose son is getting married.
We hardly keep in touch over the years until about two years ago and we met twice so far over lunch.
Wonder if I should give a gift (can't think of what to give) or red packet (don't know how much to give) for church wedding...
I understand that there will be lunch buffet.
Appreciate your kind advice. :thankyou: -

RE: Any easy way to stream video from smart phone to smart tv?
I have finally bought a samsung smart TV
It took me sometime to figure out some features - time consuming but rewarding.
Now, I am stuck at Toggle - how to view past programs on Toggle? It brought me to the screen that says t I need to sign in or sign up for a new account on http://www.toggle.sg.
'please visit http://www.toggle.sg with your internet browser to sign in or sign up for a new account. Go to 'my account>manage devices>add device' and enter the code below to pair with this device.'
When I access the given site via the internet browser on the smart tv, I couldn't sign in. It just couldn't activate further.
Anyone could advise please? -
RE: Oven recommendation
I have moved to a new house and there is this Elica built-in oven without manual.
Googled for Elica to no avail - this product is no longer in sale in Singapore.
I find the symbols quite unique - anyone happen to know how to use this oven?
thanks!
