    • RE: Learning Chinese (Secondary)

Hi, I’m desperately looking for a patient lady Chinese tuition teacher to teach my sec3 girl in HCL. She is having "O" levels this year & the tuition teacher that we currently have seems to be having her own set of problems and losing focus in teaching. Thanks

Its very difficult to find cheap food in foodcourts nowadays.

      Nex foodcourts are very ex.
Yes, I agree. The price guide on the billboard said that 2 veggies + 1 meat probably costs $3.50. But most of the veggies are cooked with meat and they considered that as meat dishes. I had two veggies that unfortunately contained minced meat and that cost me $5! I find this selling tactic very disgusting but I'm sure the owner is very proud of himself/herself for being innovative. *sigh*

my girl is in Sec3 this year and school is near NEX. We used to give her $50/week to cover bf, lunch & dinner because she stays late on most days or go for tuition after school and doe not have dinner with us. Then, when we had dinner at NEX food court one day, we realised that the cheapest food - mixed-veggies w/rice or a Hokkein Mee costs $4.50… we had since increased her allowance to $80/week. This does not include her bus fare for the month.

      Hi All,

I'm sure there had been discussions and recommendations on private Physics tutor in the past. But this thread has 53 pages, and I really don't have the stamina to browse through them. Just a quick qn - anyone has experience with a good Female Physics teacher who is effective in teaching Sec 3 students? we are staying in Serangoon and hoping to find that Ms Right. Many Thanks. :xedfingers:

      Mrs Lindy Lee:
      Dear Shell

Tell your daughter not to worry :grphug: because the markers will look at the content first. It may be a common problem across all the exam centres.

Focus on the remainder papers is more important. Good luck for tomorrow's Science paper. All the best!

My DS1 also taking PSLE this yr.

      Regards
      Lindy
Thank you. She is very relieved now. In fact, she did ask a couple of teachers and they said the examiners will look at the contents 1st. So not to worry.

And I noticed we have a lot of young friends here as well.. Good Luck to the remaining papers !! I also can't wait for this to be over :please:

      Dear Friends,

My daughter took her (Chinese) Mother Tongue exams this morning. She and her friends had mistakenly written the page no. (eg., 2) as her Question no. Will they be penalised ?? The confusion came about because the Page no. was featured prominently on the top page of the question booklet. So the children mistaken them and wrote that as their question no. My daughter is so worried that she cried after her exams as she is afraid that the marker will mark her as out of point. She did check with 2 teachers at the school and they assured her that the examiners will not fault them. Even then, she is still worried and is affecting her mood to revise her Science.

      cheerios,

      Dear Aunties/Uncles,

I'm using my mum's a/c. I need help with this Q. :gloomy: Amy ,Ben and Cathy were the top 3 scorers in a spelling competition. their teacher gave them a bag of marbles to share.Amy, the top scorer, received 2/3 bag of the marbles and 1/3of a marble, Ben, with the second highest score, received 2/3 of the remaining marbles and 1/3 of a marble. if there was only 1 marble left in the bag for Cathy, how many marbles were in the bag at first?

i would really appreciate it if any one of you could help me. i thank you in advance! šŸ˜„ :thankyou:

      Hi

I think it should be read as \" 2/3 of the remaining bag of marbles'.

Your question is similar to this question which has been discussed earlier.

      The solution to your question.

      1 unit ----- 4/3

      3 units ------ 4

      1 part ------ 13/3

      3 parts ------ 13

      Hope this helps.

      Best wishes
