I managed to request for a meeting for PTM on Thursday and went to DS school on Friday. I overheard a lot of parents complaining that the meeting being very disorganize. I guess the teachers are interested to see only parents whom DS is not doing well and not interested about the rest. Apparently, the teachers don’t even know the boys. I was shock to learn about this because if the teachers have no idea who the boy is, how is he/she going to feedback about the boy?

Just get to know from my sec 1 DS that I won't be invited to the PTM. He says only those who failed 3 subjects will get to see the teacher. Which means if there is only one boy failed 3 subjects, the teacher will be only seeing one boy. So what is the PTM for? The school should at least give sec 1 parents a chance to meet up and understand how are the boys coping with the new environment and subjects etc.

I called the school yesterday and was told that teacher will hand a form to us if we are interested in attending PTM. DS says teacher has not hand him the form yet. Let's wait for next week to see if the form will be hand out.

There are good teachers around too. Their form teacher is quite caring, I believe. Last yr their English teacher was fantastic too. Too bad she left the school. Ya, my DS llikes the last yr English teacher too. She is kind and helpful, unfortunately she retired and DS said he saw her in school sometimes as she was back as a relief teacher. Guess you need to bring to Principal's attention immediately and request him to do something about it. Teachers play a very important roles as they can motivate or make the students hate a subject. For those without patience with children, they shouldn't be even considering teaching as their career! Hope we will have less of these 害群之马 in MSHS.

Today I took my son bag to weight and guess how heavy is the bag? It's near to 10kg! I though with the help of the Mac book, the boys can enjoy lighter school bag but instead, he needs to bring Mac book + a few of the thick text book which make the bag super heavy. When ask if the books are indeed needed, he says all needed... :x
