Need a part time maid mainly ironing clothing at Toa Payoh (opposite MRT). Either once or twice a week on weekday, 3 - 4 hours per session. Please PM me if you have any good referral. Thanks in advance!

I managed to request for a meeting for PTM on Thursday and went to DS school on Friday. I overheard a lot of parents complaining that the meeting being very disorganize. I guess the teachers are interested to see only parents whom DS is not doing well and not interested about the rest. Apparently, the teachers don’t even know the boys. I was shock to learn about this because if the teachers have no idea who the boy is, how is he/she going to feedback about the boy?

Thank you so much for the info. Me or the father will go to the talk, hope to see you there. 😄

Just get to know from my sec 1 DS that I won't be invited to the PTM. He says only those who failed 3 subjects will get to see the teacher. Which means if there is only one boy failed 3 subjects, the teacher will be only seeing one boy. So what is the PTM for? The school should at least give sec 1 parents a chance to meet up and understand how are the boys coping with the new environment and subjects etc.

I tried going online via AsknLearn to book a timing for the PTM, but all I got was this:

There are no resources that has been assigned to you as yet, please check with the school administrator.
I called the school yesterday and was told that teacher will hand a form to us if we are interested in attending PTM. DS says teacher has not hand him the form yet. Let's wait for next week to see if the form will be hand out.

So shock to hear so many negative feedback about the teacher! Wondering if I have made the wrong choice selecting this school for my DS. Have you though of bringing this matter to MOE?

There are good teachers around too. Their form teacher is quite caring, I believe. Last yr their English teacher was fantastic too. Too bad she left the school. I have already drafted a letter about the teacher for the Principal. But I really don't want to go that far. Still hoping that there's a better tomorrow...

Ya, my DS llikes the last yr English teacher too. She is kind and helpful, unfortunately she retired and DS said he saw her in school sometimes as she was back as a relief teacher. Really hope that it will be better tomorrow otherwise change of teacher would be better for the boys.
Glad to know that there are good teachers too. Guess you need to bring to Principal's attention immediately and request him to do something about it. Teachers play a very important roles as they can motivate or make the students hate a subject. For those without patience with children, they shouldn't be even considering teaching as their career! Hope we will have less of these 害群之马 in MSHS.

      Hi skyjuice,

I will like to go but I have to take care of the younger one at home. Really hope it will be better after the PTM.

I am so with you on this.....I dont see why the boys cant leave their textbooks in school or home since they study via their Mac.

Exactly! I told my son I am going to write to his form teacher but he wants me to wait until locker is being issue to them. I guess he is afraid he might get scolding if I send out the email. I really don't understand what is the time table for if it is not strictly followed?

I can't find the teacher email address on ADMIN BREEZE ...anyone know where to locate the teacher email address???
Ask you ds to log in and he should know where to find the teachers email address. I also have the same problem earlier and my ds log in to search for the email for me.

Today I took my son bag to weight and guess how heavy is the bag? It's near to 10kg! I though with the help of the Mac book, the boys can enjoy lighter school bag but instead, he needs to bring Mac book + a few of the thick text book which make the bag super heavy. When ask if the books are indeed needed, he says all needed... :x

Not sure if the teacher can help???
Silver88, is your ds in Sec 1 this year? You got to pay for the padlock, not the locker itself. I cant recall the actual price.

      Hi Blitz,

Yes, my boy is in sec 1. Thanks for the info. I will ask my boy to check with the teacher how much the padlock cost.

I know this is the company that sells the locks (apply from school)
      http://www.rent-a-locker.com/default.aspx.

If I am not mistaken, it is $20+ or $40+.
My goodness! Even a lock cost so much? Mac book, cost for certain CCA, reference books, tuition etc, we are spending so much on our children on education. They better pay attention & study hard to repay us
