RE: All About Choosing and Buying Violins
Hi
Im looking for 3/4 violin preloved condition. PM me if you have an european violin on price.
My child use 1/2 for a year and time to change. Thought the current 1/2 handcraft cost $500+ can last 2 yrs but sadly no. im thinking if child is using for a year, i dun need to spend so much again. Sorry I dun know how to choose a violin but child has tried china made 300+, german made 300+ and handcraft 600+. I dun need expensive model, just a decent model with good sound but not too priced. I dun mind preloved 3/4 as long as violin sound is good. However I do not know where i can buy preloved violin.
Hope to hear from some share. Thanks -
RE: Fairfield Methodist Primary
Hi
Parents, can i just find out if ur p1 to p4 kids having lots of homework or manageable with time to rest and play at home? Do they enjoy the homework they are given and look forward to school? I know some neighbourhood schools are givings some qty to p1 term 2 onwards.
When do the school introduce hcl for their students? My current child is already complaining she has homework daily with her cl lessons.
Hope to hear some sharing with experienced parents.

RE: Any good Air Purifier to recommend?
Can anyone share abt dyson purifier?
Hb recommending honeywell like pokoyoko. Im looking for effective, easy to maintain and store unit for the living room. The kids are too vulnerable. After 1 day of term 4 school, started fever, cough, sore throat. I wonder how my kids going to survive the school environment with our purifier, aircon and exposed to haze for the few hours. -
RE: Club Breadmakers
Hi littlecloud9,
Thanks for your detailed sharing. It really helps me to understand better.
May I know which bread machine you are using? My neighbour just bought a Mayer bread maker and shared some with me. Getting very tempted to get a maker real soon. Tabletop space is really full and i need to find another spot for this if i get 1. -
RE: Club Breadmakers
I think the dough have not been kneaded to the stretchy membrane stage maybe abt 80% then i just let it proof. That could explain why bread becomes less than ok from 2nd day onwards?
Is it normal for bakers to use mixer and then knead by hand to achieve the membrane stage? or just let machine do the work usually? Is it easy for mixer to achieve that stage? Usually we knead on low speed compared to high speed in the heading process? I tried using low speed but takes a long time then i use medium to fast speed but the effect not the stretchy membrane type compared to those hand knead. Would anybody be able to share any tips for my bread baking diary. I want to practise more.
I find that doing bread takes up much time and maybe i shd seriously consider getting a bread machine to do loaf at night without the much hassle in the morning. A few friends told me it’ so easy and convenient to have fresh loaves in the morning for kids and they no longer buy loaf except those with different patterns and flavour. I like to do the different styles as it is tastier and kids adore them. -

Thanks for the share, Patntee
Another thing which i would like to check. I made a few attempts of baking bread using oven and mixer over the last wk. When the bread is not finished within the same day of bake, i realised that it can get a little dull/moist on the second day. Im not sure if it' due to the hot humid weather in May. Is this the norm? I keep them in fridge from day 2 onwards and warm up before i butter it to eat. Still gd on 3rd day. Seasoned bakers to share.
Now that the GSS is here, i saw that taka has a new range of zojirushi bread maker in combination of white and pastel pink. Slightly bigger loaf of another 50g i looked at the pan size. RP 468, promo 368. Additional 10% for taka card holders till 24 May Sunday. Those interested to get any kitchen appliances accessories do note.
I see that Isetan only carries Panasonic bread maker. Taka carries a few more like ken wood, panasonic, zojirushi and philips.
Do any know if metro carries any bread maker brands? -
RE: Club Breadmakers
Hi
For kenwood bread maker user, does your machine get hot while baking the bread and how soft is the sound when it is at work?
Any philips bread maker user? What’ your comment on the above as well?
I realised that the western bread makers have a more generous capacity bread volume of min 500g to 1kg loaf compared to the japanese bread makers.
I am still thinking on getting 1 and zojirushi has a newer model for sale this year. I do not know if i shd get the compact japanese bread maker with 500g function or western bread maker with a bigger capacity but taking up at least 1.5times on tabletop size.
Next would my kitchen aid then be under-utilised if i shd get a bread maker? Or i shd just use my mixer and the oven to just do the bake instead?
Any share wd be much appreciated. -
RE: Club Breadmakers
Hi
Can i just check if there are any Kitchenaid users who also get bread machine for ease of doing bread and dough for oven use? Im thinking of getting the z or k bread machine. The k bread machine can do more than 500g of bread/ dough so I’m not sure which to get. Any sharing or experienced bakers to advise. Thanks -
RE: Q&A - P1 English
slmkhoo:
I would let her continue reading so as not to interrupt the flow of the story. Nothing is more off-putting than to be constantly interrupted while reading a story. Then there are 3 ways to go: one is to let her be as she is likely to see the word again elsewhere, and after a few times, will probably understand the word in context. This is the most natural way to learn a word, and it's the way I learned most of my vocab. Another way is to get her to make a note of the word (use a post-it or something) and check later. Or you can flick through the book after she has read it and quiz her on some of the words (make it a game, not a test!), and check them together with her. My father used to do this for me occasionally, and it was just something we did together.Simp:
Hi
How do i get my child to check out the meaning of words she does not know when she read? She will read and just skip any words she does not understand. Do i need to make it interesting or how do i motivate her?
I would try your suggestion.
