      Thx Chubby.

Teachers arrangement for P2 vs P1 is quite different ..
In P1, they only hv 2 main teachers : form teacher + MT teacher .
But in P2 ( at least in my DS class ), he has form teacher, co-form teacher , PE teacher , MT teacher + other subject teachers.
Wonder if such arrangement is the same for other p2 classes ?

Also, in P1 , the monitors assigned are per Term basis , but was told now is on half-year assignment . Wonder this change is effectively for all levels, or only for P2 ..
Any parents up there to share ?
We're not aware of any particular arrangement differences between P1 & P2. For P1, my boy had a different PE teacher, likewise this year. As far as I know, it's all depending on the school arrangement and teacher availability.

The teachers are different this year, so we just wait and listen to his feedback.

Not aware of monitor assignment period for P2, since he's not the monitor, haha.

      Cheers,
      Chubby

    • RE: Vegetables

      Oh yes, fruits of course.

Parents count for more of the influence how a child treats vege and fruits. If parents faces light up and smile when a plate of sizzling oily meat comes, and treats vege-eating as something we all ‘must’ do, then the message is clear, meat is good, vege must eat because we (parents) say so, then it becomes difficult for a child to naturally like veges over meat.

Our family make it a point to look for mostly vegetables. And we do have all fruits for dinner and meals.

Big boy takes lesser variety of fruits, but willing to try occasionally. 2nd one takes almost all kinds of fruits, but is fussy if the fruit isn’t good/fresh, he knows his stuff.

      Cheers.

      Thanks.

Have tried Ling Zhi and 7 Sensations before. I find the latter’s prices have increased significantly since they changed owners and stopped going there. Agreed Ling Zhi is good.

Here’s a couple of budget places,

      1. The Divine Realm Veg Restaurant (no egg) at Block 501 Hougang Ave 8. Famous for their La Mien, and other dishes are good too. With nice Zh Cha dishes. Boys enjoy the food there, and the Roti Prata & Roti John isn’t too bad either.

      2. 2nd floor Fortune Centre Organic food, next to escalator. Good food, good price. Boys love the pita pocket, vege sushi roll is my fav.

Keep sharing, and find more places for family meals outside.

      Cheers.

But what if the parent also don't like to eat veggie?

Hahaha that is a good one ! Ok, I think then the parents will also have to learn to eat veggies because they teach best by example. It will have a good outcome for your colon health etc. 😄

      Agreed.

My 2nd boy was trained from young, staying with a vegetarian babysitter. But as parents, we eat a lot of veges too, and our big one is also comfortable with veges, if the parents appear to enjoy veges, the kids would naturally eat it too.

Each kid have their preference, my big one prefers broccoli, watercress, lotus root soup, and carrot and lettuce salad with his own homemade sauce. My younger one take more variety, loves his salad, tomatoes must be raw. Both love mushrooms like their daddy & mummy.

Agreed that it's healthier to go take more vege.

      Cheers.

    • Vegetarian food?

Going a bit against the trend in this place... 😓

Would be good if there's any nice vegetarian stalls/restaurants to recommend.

Not strict vegetarians, so can recommend stalls that also offer good vegetable/non-meat dishes.

      Cheers.

    • RE: Travel: Malaysia - Bukit Tinggi

Agreed that the place isn’t much, laid back service, and quite expensive food. But it is a popular place for nature photographers and bird watchers, especially for birds. Will be fun if nature is your theme, provided parents are keen too 😉

My kids were ok with the winding road up, but they’ve been ‘trained’ with other road trips before.

      Brought my family there twice.

      Cheers.

Just adding my name to the list. My son is in Rosyth P2 now, and his younger brother will be P1 next year (2011).
