    • RE: All About Autism

On what basis will the mainstream primary school reject kids with Autism?

DS2 (4yrs old) seems to have mild Autism (his teacher has also acknowledge this, and thankfully is taking steps to help rectify). My 1st appointment with the specialist is not till July.

He does not like to socialise, enjoys routine stuff, can be bad temper when things don’t go his way, and does not know how to talk well (will repeat the question you asked him). Instuctions wise, sometimes he understands, and there are times he doesn’t seem to, though he can do some work by himself, and memorise those short stories we read to him.

      Kinda worry.

Just wanna check, if by end June, one still have not manage to clock the minimum 40hrs (maybe about 30plus hrs), is the person still eligible for the Phase 2C PV balloting? If it is Yes/No, does this appply to all schools or dependable on individual school?

Phase 2C is open to all, no PV is required. If one has clocked the 40 hours, they move up to an earlier phase (2B).

Under 2C, (actually 2B also the same), distance is key. Spaces are given based on distance - balloting ONLY if there are more applicants than spaces in that DISTANCE category.

Thanks for replying, and I'm sorry for the error as I meant Phase 2B. Will this person still be eligiable for the Phase 2B (under the PV scheme) selection? Thanks

    • Hair Loss

Anyone having this problem? Am currently using Phytho hair loss treatment and Sunsilk Hair Fall Shampoo and conditioner. Does it help? What other methods to prevent hair loss?

Is the use of comb important? Heard that using those jade comb is good for the hair? Is that true or just urban legend?

Has anyone tried the Visual Theraphy eyewear (from Guardian)? Does it help to improve the eyesight? Am "forcing" DS to wear it now. Hope it helps.

    • RE: [Jurong West] Primary Schools

      ChiefKiasu:

The TUR refers to the cumulative take up rate at the end of that specific Phase. Naturally, the TUR should never exceed 100% except in VERY RARE cases involving twins/triplets.

The APP refers to the number of applicants vying for places available for a given Phase. It can exceed 100% in which case either cut-off or balloting rules apply.
      Thank you

    • RE: [Jurong West] Primary Schools

      Hi

I was reading the Singapore P1 Registration School Balloting History page (http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/content/jurong-west). Would appreciate some advise on how do I intrepret the result. Mainly the App and Tur columns.

Confuse with these 2 columns. Take Pioneer Pri School for example, there are 132% App and 100% Tur, so it means there are 132applications for Phase 2C Supp and 100% applied?

Also, does Phase 2C supp means the extra places left over after all the other Phases (2A-2C)?

      Thanks

      Hi mummies,

just to share some info on cupcakes though.
i happened to order some cupcakes from Delectable Delites recently for my colleague bday and found that their cupcakes is very delicious and best part is you can customize the theme.
Thanks for the lead. I called up the owner (Janiviy) and most likely will go with her, since she stays near my place (easier for collection).

Thanks for the other leads too 😄
