From what I know, only the Affiliated Middle School to Jilin University in Changchun held AMC8 in China. Why not just take AMC8 here, it’s more convenient.

She has received congratulation from NUSH. For SMO junior, I have never heard of that.

Yes, really hard to understand. Since she is the only girl among all 15 high distinction winners, I think they don't bother to check but sent to all winners.
so funny, how come RI sent her a letter when she's female?sunnyrain:
Thank you for your reply. I'm more relieved now. My daughter is 99.99 percentile, her score is 64, if I'm not wrong. RI also sent her an invitation letter to apply for DSA in RI. But she can't change her gender, that's the problem. -

My daughter, 2nd in NMOS last year, gold medal, 3rd in RI maths olympiad, high distinction, she didn't take smops due to her age, has not received notification of GAT from NYGH and shortlist test notice of RGS (She has taken the GAT in RGS last Wednesday). I'm a bit worried that both schools won't consider her applications. Any advice or further information from both schools?
Hi sunnyrain,
I think you no need to worry abt your daughter, as I know, all winners of RI Primary Mathematics World Contest 2009 will be given a confirmed place from RGS/RI immediately. Sean Pek, one of RI 2009 winners, (6th place), both SMOPS and APMOPS winnner, he received a confirmed place from RI, but he wants NUSH, he attended NUSH selection test on 4 July 2009.
Mr. KELWYN NG (Head / Mathematics Raffles Institution) replied my email
last time, he said that top score of RI 2009 is 69, my daughter is also from China, she scored 43 and 98 percentile, she got Credit Certification only. How abt your daughter, what score she got? as a 3rd place winner, she should above 60, am I right? -

PSLE is not the same as competition. That's why most of the winners are from P5 for NMOS. PSLE questions are not that difficult, so it does not make such a big different. Don't worry, sunnyrain, Singapore goverment welcome all overseas talent. I know your daughter will do well and she has her wonderful mother to thank. Cheers. :celebrate:
It's been so nice of you to say that, thanks!!!

Thank you, you are so sweetsunnyrain:
Yes, it's my fault to bring her back to China. However, even in China, she is the top student in Olympiad maths, has won the first place in AMC8 in China. I still feel regretful since when she was here in Primary 1 & 2 as she was the best student in her class. I really believe my daughter will receive a better education here, hope that she won't face any prejudice against her because of my fault. As a mother, age limit, what can I say?
You really shouldn't worry yourself. She's done very well at the Math Olympiad competitions she's taken part in. Furthermore she'll have the chance to prove herself at the Math Selection Test and interview. -

She is applying RGS under the Math domain and her status of NUSH is the same as wmd's daughter. Anyone received notification of 25th July RGS shortlisted test?sunnyrain:
Thanks for the reply. This DSA is driving me crazy. My daughter is one year older than the other students. She is in P6 now.
I don't think you need to worry too much because obviously she's talented in Math. Did she apply under the Math domain for RGS? How about NUSH?
