RE: Kids say the darnest things...
During lunch at a chinese restaurant, my P1 DD suddenly asked me:
DD: Mummy, how come Chor Chor (great grandma)'s husband had alot of sperms?
Me  : Why did you ask that?
DD: Cos Chor Chor has many children and you need sperms to have children right?
Me: Where did you learn that from?
DD: I read it from the encyclopedia
After some thought, DD whispered into my ears and giggled \" I think Daddy does not have much sperm.\"
DD is the only child at home. -

dadelina:
Hi dadelinaHi Super Mama,
Read that your dd is in gymnastics. How is it so far? any feedback from ur dd?
Cos, my dd wanted to join gymnastics too but the timing clash with her 1st choice cca ie. art club.
She seems to enjoy gymnastics so far. Think there are 2 instructors from China coaching them. You are thinking of signing up your DD for 2nd CCA? -
RE: All About Supplements for Children
beanbear:
Hi BeanBearHi Everyone,
I'm newbie to Kiasu parents but very kiasu about my children's health especially building their immunity. I've 3 kids (11, 10, 6 with No 4 on the way!!). I've been giving my kids supplements regularly - Rainbow Light Multi-vitamin gummies & Rainbow Light Omegalicious (Omega 3 - some people believe kids should only take Omega 3 but not 6 & 9). My friends give their kids Nordic Naturals & I take Nordic Naturals 369 for myself. In the past one year, I've been giving my kids Sambucol -Elderberry extract or Sambucol (which has elderberry & echinacea - this is a FANTASTIC product! The moment the kids have the slightest sniff or cough, they take twice a day for 3-5 days (cannot be taken continuously for more than 2 weeks) and their flu never develops. I've not brought my kids to see the doctor for the past one year!!
Another product that's great is Sinusin - a homeopathic nasal spray for mild rhinitis - great for stopping a full-blown cold after spraying a few days.
I order all my supplements from http://www.iherb.com which was recommended to me by my nutritionist. I even order my organic shampoos & all kinds of flu herbal stuff there. The prices are at least 30-50% cheaper GNC or Vitakids or other shops here even with shipping costs thrown in. Just order below US$300 to avoid GST charges when you ship in. Shipping cost is fairly inexpensive. I order more than 20 products each time and my shipping is still less than US$20.
Happy shopping!
But of course you must read widely and consult a naturopath or herbal remedy practitioner before you simply give your children herbal medication. There are lots of testimonials on every product and all the ingredients are clearly spelt out.
If you wish to buy the products there, you may use my Discount Code LUY703 which will give you US$5 off your first purchase and I will also get a small discount credit for my next purchase for introducing other customers (win-win :)) but if you choose to open your own account without using the discount code that's fine too!
Happy shopping & save $ going to the doctors!
I have been giving my 7 year old DD Sambucol everyday. 2 teaspoon each day as per the usage instructions on the box.
U mentioned that the product cannot be taken continuously for more than 2 weeks. Is there any adverse effect? Where did you get this info? -

Hi Super Mama and New HPPS mum, my son is also in 1 Creativity and I also live in Bishan. He takes the school bus to school.
Hi leestarr,
Wow..good to know that your son is from the same class too. I am residing in Bukit Panjang Area.
By the way, have you register your son for any CCA already?
What time does the school bus usually picks your son up? Same timing on Wednesdays as well?

kero:
Thanks Kero! Very helpful info.Canteen food starts from 70 cents for chicken rice, curry rice, fried rice, waffle, pasta and noodles, except for omettele rice which is $1. If your kid is big eater can ask for a bigger potion at $1.20. Drinks from 50 cents onwards, quite ex hence I do not encourage my kid to buy from the canteen unless necessary. Ice-cream cost 60 cents. Snacks like WangWang, seaweed is like 20 cents per pack! So better to pack 1-2 pack to bring to sch if u kid loves to snack.
Eg of 70 cents - Chicken rice consist of 1 drumette with some rice.
Waffle - 1/2 piece of the waffle with honey. -
