Since there are so many proposals put forward, I might as well throw 1 in the ring.
Phase 1: Keep phase 1 intact, ie sidlings automatically qualify and parent is a staff of the school. Balance of seats goes to next phase.
Phase 2: Merge all the PV, GRL, Alumni, Board Memeber priority and ex-sidlings into 1 phase and if more applicants than vacancies, ballot based on distance proximity (rental included). By putting all the `priority' schemes into 1 pot, it will eliminate the discussion which group of volunteers is entitled to greater priority. All are treated the same, fairest way.
Phase 3: All other applicants.
:boogie: Whatever change the gov makes, it will benefit some and it is definitely gonna hurt some! :xedfingers:

So which should I chose to volunteer as, PV or Community? What are the pros and cons of each?
In my opinion, PV for school will only let you have P2B privilege for the school you volunteer but as you volunteer there, you get to know the school better. For Comminity work, ie. GRL, you get P2B privilege for schools within that GRC so you get more choices.
Both are subject to balloting within P2B if applicants exceed number of vacancies and the distance between your home and the school will play an important part when there is balloting.
Different schools and GRCs have different tasks and hours required so you will need to find out more from the specific school and GRC inorder to make better comparison.
Hope this helps.
Thank you for the information and advise, I am much clearer now.

:? Which will be easier and have more chance, School Volunteer or Grassroot Volunteer? :?I am new here...
I am staying in AMK and I got a child born in 2008 any school to recommend for PV?? Is it too early for me to register PV?
Instead, I have checked Anderson Primary but they have closed applications until 2016. Does it mean that I have no chance to send it PV ?
Looking forward for your reply.... -
