      ozora:

If I use the following method, is it logical?
      50x 1.5h= 75km extra
      75-50 =25km/h (difference in speed)
      75/25 =3h
      Therefore distance=3x75=225km
      Approved !
      :congrats:
The difference in distance = 75km for 90minutes.
Speed difference = 25km every hour.
For the distance difference to be 75km, 3 hours is taken .
3 hours x Speed of Car = Distance travelled = the entire distance .

      Hence, solved .
      Recently super buzy .
It's good to know alternative methods .
Goes well with my motto ! Haha .

An 8-cm long earthworm was at the bottom of a hole that was 52 cm deep. If the earthworm moves at a uniform speed, it would take 9 s to get out of the hole completely. What was its speed?

      52+8 / 9 ?

      NerdyMath:
Ethan's daily allowance is $4 more than Lucy's. Ethan spends 4 times as much as Lucy every day. Ethan takes 5 days to save $10 while Lucy takes 4 days to save the same amount. How much does Ethan spend each day?

How much does E and L saves in 1 day?

After solving the above question, form 2 equations
      2 + 4S = A + 4
      2.5 + S = A
      Where S = Lucy's spending and A = Lucy's allowance
      2 equations , 2 unknowns . Hence solved .

OR you can choose to use S = Ethan's spending and A = Ethan's allowance
Then the 2 equation will change to :
      2 + S = A
      2.5 + S/4 = A-4
      Same thing here .
      2 equations , 2 unknowns . Hence solved .

Once you can see the 2 equations and know how to manipulate algebras ,
most questions are as easy as solved .

Hi! Can someone please help to solve this question? Thanks in advance!

      A motorist left Town A for Town B at 1.40 p.m.
He travelled 1/4 of his journey in 20 minutes and the remaining 135 km at an average speed of 75 km/h.
At what time will the motorist reach Town B?
      Distance = Speed x Time
How long is taken to travel the remaining 135km?
      Total time taken = ???
Current time + Total Time taken = ???

Maths is fun and enjoyable .

Don’t expect too much improvement from children as this may cause stress .
Try to develop her interests for the subject , just going through simple stuff where she can excel . Then motivate her to try harder questions slowly .
      Might be time-consuming .
It’s best if student is willing to learn on their own after tuition instead of being forced to tuition .
A tutor can only do this much if student is unwilling to cooperate to improve results .
Bring them to library or take the rest of the children out to provide conducive environment to study .

So sorry... I still can't cross over the first part. Mental block.. hahahha..

Ok, why do you divide by 3? (60/3)?
      Cuz B = C + 60 ?
The difference is 60....which is exactly 3 units .
Drawn out nicely by Ender . :goodpost:
Take 5mins break....then come back to think again.
