No guru, just a passionate person in tutoring maths :celebrate:

(Let container A be A g)
(Let container B be B g)

(A - 626r5r8 ) x 4 = B
(B - 179) = A x 7/12

Equation 1 : 4A - 2506r1r2 = B
Equation 2 : B = A x 7/12 + 179
Combine both equation to remove B:
4A - 2506r1r2 = A x 7/12 + 179
4A - 2506.5 = 7A/12 + 179
3r5r12 x A = 2506.5 + 179
41A/12 = 2685.5
41A = 32226
A = 786

Swift Formula:
A piggy bank contained some fifty-cent coins, twenty-cent coins and ten-cent coins in the ratio 4:6:3. When 2/3 of the fifty-cent coins were taken out and replaced with the same number of ten-cent coins and 90 twenty-cent coins were taken out and replaced with the same number of ten-cent coins, the ratio of the number of fifty-cent coins to the number of twenty-cent coins to the number of ten-cent coins became 4:15:20.

a) What was the total number of coins taken out of the piggy bank?
b) What was the total value of the coins taken out of the piggy bank?

A=After , B = Before
4B x 1/3 = 4A
6B - 90 = 15A
3B + 90 + 8B/3 = 20A

3 equation, 2 unknowns. Hence solved.

I am still confused... at how you got the 3 equations. :? :? :?
Can you please explain them to me. Thank you.
Before
50cents : 4 units = 4B
After
50 cents : 4 units = 4A

Equation 1:
After losing 2/3 of 4B, we get 4A
so 4B x 1/3 = 4A

I do not use \"units\" for P6 students. Purely substituted by Algebra.
Some students = 🤷 \"still don't understand\"
Other students = :boogie: \"so easy~\"
Secondary JC University are worlds of Algebra. There's not much answer without it. The earlier they master Algebra, the more confident they are and used to it.

For primary school students scoring above 80, I introduce them to the world of Algebra at P4 or P5. Those can understand it, will switch their method. Those who can't, still stick to basic units.
All the numbers are substituted by algebra, no need to show much working. Be it multiplication of 234 x 765 or long divison of 568 / 22.
Algebra = axb = ab, b/a = b/a in fraction form.

leo_mums:
A fruiterer had 36 more pineapples than papayas at first. He sold 1/4 of the pineapples and 1/5 of the papayas. If he sold 11 more pineapples than papayas, what percentage of the remaining fruits were papayas? (round off your answer to 2 decimal places)

P = Papayas
1/4(P+36) = 1/5(P) +11
Solve for P.
Hence question is solved.

Jenny has twice as many sisters as brothers. Each of her brothers has 1/3 as many brothers as sisters. How many sisters does Jenny have?

*Can someone please explain this to me using the \"drawing a model\" method?*
Jenny has 2A sister , A brother
J'Bro has 3B sister , B brother

3B = 2A + 1
B = A-1

2 equation, 2 unknowns. Hence solved.
