RE: All About Choosing and Buying Pianos
My hubby and my friend test the piano before we commit. Everything seems fine except some dirt / dust on the pins etc. And of course the pins are oxidised … but even if you buy from 2nd hand shop, they refurb it?? after 3year it still oxidise …that what some shops told me
I went to a few 2nd hand shop b4 that, they quoted me 4k plus for a 25yrs++ made in japan model. So as long as the condition of the piano is fine, I mean the sound and no major problem, i think it a good buy and it is also made in Japan. -
RE: All About Choosing and Buying Pianos
Hi there,
I have been sourcing around for a piano for my daughter (Pri 1) since Nov 12. 1st hand too ex for me, and not worth it if she drop halfway. So decided on 2nd hand piano. Manage to get U1 24yrs at 2.5K last weekend, working fine except a bit of comestic issue. Now daughter and son start playing it… you can try sourcing from cargslist.com.sg , st classified etc … from my experience, getting from enduser is definitely cheaper than 2nd hand shop. -
RE: Kranji Primary
Hi Hi,
My kid is studying in Pri 1 at KPS this year. As usual, did not get into DLS. Surprise KPS not as bad afterall. Pri 1 and 2 , wear t-shirt and short while Pri 3 onward additional shirt , so save cost and better for kids. Teachers friendly and helpful , while principal also approachable. School work not as easy or less challenging than you think. My son do enjoy school with like homework to do , becos he did it in class
quite relaxing for him and less stressful for me ... in this way, he can focus on both academic and his hobbies. -

RE: [Choa Chu Kang] Primary Schools
Hi All,
first of all, good luck to those school that need balloting. I went through it last year. from st anthony pri (hubby school) -> south view pri (volunteer , but 1-2km) so rejected -> de la salle (ballot in 2C) -> kranji pri (finally).
Kranji pri … hmmm … not bad so far, pri 1 and pri 2 afternoon classes, with some cca to try , then i think pri 3 they will select their cca. Teachers very prompt and helpful while study materials more or less same as other schools. Furthermore school is clean and tidy.
My kid do enjoy his lesson there, and since his chinese result not bad , was transferred to 1st class to take higher chinese (jus for fun at the moment). At the end of this yr, there will be changing of classes (based on result).
Hope these help !! -

RE: St Anthony's Primary
Hi Carrotree,
Ya hubby is former student , I did enrol my son in phrase 2A2 , then I decided to drop out to register him at De La Salle in Phrase 2C , but did not get in. If getting in to "good" school is impt to u , then my advise is don’t try luck , opt for 2nd choice if SA is hot next year. As u will get very very lost and disappointed if you did manage to seurce a place of your prefer school.
my suggestion is to see whether keming (seems popular OR yr 2nd choice) whether they accept PV , and go for it NOW
