      Hi Everyone!

My son also will be joining KPS next yr 😉 . Didin't get into De LA Selle in phase 2C altho living a few blks away. Anyway, didin't have a good feeliing abt this sch.

I also heard the new principal is good! Think she was present at the registration day if i didn't recognise wrongly, introducing her sch to parents.

I asked the staff on the registration day abt when the sch will be in full day session. She said not so soon. P1 & 2 for next 2 yr will still remain as afternoon session. They no need renov & is waiting MOE to decode when they're converting. Also good for us, no need so rush in the morning.

Btw, they don't have SA. Their swimming class is compulsary becos it is within their class module unlike DLS is optional during off class hr.

Have you all receive the more details from the sch other than the orientationd day date (20 NOV)?

      Tks.

        Hi ww1228,

No worries, I sure KPS is a good school too. Because after asking around the children and parents of KPS, they give good feedbacks. In fact, those negative feedbacks are given by non-KPS parents and outsiders!

Yes, i have received the orientation letter. My girl is looking forward to KPS, although KPS is not our first choice. She likes the uniform, school T-shirt and the colour of the school building as she comments is very colourful and cheerful. I think so too whenever I pass-by KPS. KPS’s building definitely is the best-looking… which i think is good for the children as the colour will cheer them up!

        Cheer!

          Hi Lattes,

Tks for encouragement. As i told my son, going any sch is not the most impt but he is to study hard. If so, he still can be the top student. He feels interior 😢 when his childcare classmates said he can't get into DLS! Nowadays, kids like to compare.

Anyway, KPS is under SEED programme for lower pri. I feel that will be better for my son who cant take too much stress! He shld be happier to go to sch then. Same to yr gal too. As long as the sch env is good, teacher is good. We shldn't be worrying too much.

Btw, the orientation day is my son's BD, he's excited abt it. R they giving us the boooklist on the spot for purchasing the book tt day? Heard they no need to wear uniform but PE attire for P1, correct?

          Tks for yr advise, Lattes.

            Hi Hi,

My kid is studying in Pri 1 at KPS this year. As usual, did not get into DLS. Surprise KPS not as bad afterall. Pri 1 and 2 , wear t-shirt and short while Pri 3 onward additional shirt , so save cost and better for kids. Teachers friendly and helpful , while principal also approachable. School work not as easy or less challenging than you think. My son do enjoy school with like homework to do , becos he did it in class 🙂 quite relaxing for him and less stressful for me ... in this way, he can focus on both academic and his hobbies.

                Hi West,

Great to hear some comment from existing student's parents! I also heard that with the new principal, the sch is getting better. We're lucky to have the new principal!

Anyway, SW is also under SEED program, they produce top student. No worries. 😄

They don't have SA but have CA right?

Sorry to ask, could i have your son's P1 text books for recycling next yr? :?: Not sure if there is any changes to the list!

                Thank you very much. :celebrate:

Hi all mummies of Kranjians 2011,

My son is currently in KPS P1. I’m like you all, KPS is not my 1st choice as I’m also staying beside Yew Tee Pri & wasn’t successful in the Phase 2C balloting. Me too feel the same disappointment & lost. And I choose KPS becos’ it’s the 2nd nearest to my home. I know zero about KPS then.

I would say the teachers I met & talked to so far are very nice & approachable.

During orientation, they were given a little assessment & they were put into different Reading classes. Even their spelling is different. There are 3 levels. As for MT, by the 2nd half of the year, they were also "re-class" by their MT standard. This is to "cater" to different needs of the students which I think is good. On off, they were given dignostic tests, topical tests. And also mock tests to prepare them.

KPS isn’t as bad as I first thought to be. My son is enjoying school.

As for bully, think every schools have bullies. Teachers are there to help if we talk to them.

                  Welcome to KPS!

my gal also gng KPS next yr.

any one considering to transfer your child to the school of your choice later (either next yr or yr after next)? i’m considering so cos KPS is farther and inconvenience from my plc and i hv another 2 younger kids, youngest being 9 mths old. sticking to KPS will mean the inconvenience will stretch till ~12 yrs… hiaz…

                    really headache.
