can I know how much they quote you for your kind of setup?

For inkject printer, I am using HP brand. The difference is that for HP, the printer head is actually on the ink cartridge. So whenever you change a new cartridge, you are also changing the printer head too.


So is this important ? Other brands have their printer head in the printer itself. So when you change the ink cartridge, its purely replacing the ink.

When a printer cannot print, most probably its the printer head. Dirty, no regular cleaning or using compatible ink cartridge. Replacing the printer head will cost you probably as much as the printer itself (if no more warranty). My HP printer is already 7-8 years old and still going strong !

I use memoriesontv for all my photos. So far this is the best software I tested. Microsoft moviemaker can still do the job but its too much work and effort if you try to use all those transition effects, panning, syncronise music and such.


My aunty housewife with basic computer knowledge also can use this and create some decent photo dvds with this software! Price is US$59.99. You can download and try out. Its fully functional except there will be a watermark display on every photo when you play it.

For home use, forget about laying cables. Use wireless ip camera. This way you can place the camera anywhere you like - as long as there’s a power point near by. Basically, there are 2 types of cameras. Fixed and pan/tilt camera. Pan/tilt camera will give more flexibility as you can view 180 degree but cost a bit more.


Chances are you already have internet access at home. So just connect to the router wirelessly. Btw, you also don’t need to switch on PC whole day. Just switch on the router and camera will do.
