      55cm deep?!!!? That's a pot, not a pan! πŸ˜‰

We just took delivery yesterday...have yet to start cooking with it.

I would believe that's a good size to get...should be enough for a few pieces of pork chops, or 2 fishes. You will have to consider the weight too. The 55mm is quite heavy as it is, without any food in it.
use it to fry bean curd very very suitable, can get nice browning πŸ˜ƒ

one sweet treat you can try is to heat up some ice-cream, vanilla is good, put in a slice of white bread, toss it around
once the ice-cream gets burnt, it will form this nice flaky candy crust on the bread. can apply butter on both side of the bread first for tastier results!

I wonder if there is a service in Singapore that teaches children money on a one-to-one basis? If yes, which one? Will you send them too?

i was looking for such courses when my dd was little (years ago) πŸ˜‚ (if can attend ballet, art, music enrichment classes why not this as well πŸ˜‚ one of my silly & weird thoughts at that time) and so happened i came across some library books that teach children all about money.

you should be able to get such books in the children section and they are easy to understand and follow. πŸ˜‰ and it is one-to-one.

true true, i borrow a couple from the library , sometimes
the concepts in these kiddish books are quite profound πŸ˜ƒ

some teach children about delayed gratification concept, financial maturity, etc
the colorful illustration and simple example makes them easy to understand, in my opinion, they are very useful !

      superbmothers:
      Dear mums,

The happycall pan price always fluctuate in Gmarket. Given the stocks they are holding on hand, it will soon goes south again to the upper $60 range which is the norm stable price. As i am writing this, one of the vendor has dropped the price again to $72 instead of the $80+ range. I have update the vendor to my blog.

Notice one thing in particular is that most of the vendor who raise their price to $79 are now using EMS or Eurasia (Express) instead of Eurasia (Standard). EMS cost additional $12, that work out to $65, if the standard pan is shipped using Eurasia (Standard).

The price raise may due to Eurasia has been max out. I recalled my hcp arrived on presidential election day, the courier, an outsource agent of Eurasia told me that the warehouse is full of goods shipped from Korea and they don't have time to do all the delivery. It could be the reason why EMS is use now (EMS is faster) and pass extra cost to us.

So mums, let wait for the price to drop to the norm first. The vendor has not much choice.
πŸ•Ί I am cooking enthusiast and i got my frying pan as a gift, it is really quite cool but it is kind of heavy to weld and i am not sure i used it wrongly, but mine is not 100% water tight... my stove is kind of messy after i use it... but the effect of pressure frying is really cool, especially if you are frying chicken cutlet πŸ™‚

Good point about deciding on the buy list first. Actually I'm looking at the separate threads on assessment books but they are kinda overwhelming πŸ˜‰

Yeah, I definitely find them too overwhelming... that's why I'm posting this thread in hope to get information the easy way out πŸ•Ί

      You are right :yikes:
i didn't realised it was so tough buying assement books i really need it lol πŸ™‚

I think it is important to start from the top, my kid is quite young and of course he kind of get everything by 'whispering to daddy or grandpa'. and this is quite bad for me because their softness created a loophole for my little devil..:(

      SAHM_TAN:

Correct me if I'm wrong but that date is only applicable for 2011 registration to enter P1 in 2012 right? For wongsansan case, it should be a later date.

You are absolutely right. That date is forever updated with each P1 registration. The guideline is the last sentence of the quoted text:

Parents must move into the new property within two years of the child’s entry into Primary One.

so if i buy the condo in 2011, the place get completed in 2014 (assuming), then i rent it out, i dont think i will be making a nice profit, probably just to cover the mortage and maintenance fee and maybe be left with a couple of hundreds every month? i think that will work right? i don't have to physically stay there right?

      dorisp:
There are many new developments near Tao Nan coming up in year 2013?

well a lot of them will be completed by then, but i heard Tao Nan is going to move :yikes:

not really sure if that is true but that was what my sister heard from her neighbours :xedfingers:

i like the east coast area, at least if i dont get tao nan, i can still try other like CHIJ katong or even Ngee Ann.

haiz, even if mum and dad is trying so hard, boy boy must also contribute... my kid don't seemed to be very interested in learning actually, he is good at drawing and games, that worries me...
